basically if you want to live in a country as civil as ours and stil have a gun you need to stay here... there is no decent country that even sells guns...go to england you can barely get a 1000fps airgun.
Gun rights are a uniquely American phenomen. My in-laws are british and they can't grasp the concept of American's being able to gun to a store and purchase a handgun. Australia has pretty much outlawed all guns except .22lr's or shotguns lately and home invasion robbery/rapes are way up.
Also to point out that gun rights here in the states are not all rosey either. In D.C. you can't have a handgun and rifles/shotguns need to be dissasembled to be legal (there's a brief in front of the SCOTUS now to determine if this is contitutuional or not). In NY City or Chicago there are pretty much no gun rights either. Balance that with Alaska where they still sell pistols in Walmart.
Hand guns and automatic weapons are made for one thing only. To kill people. for this reason we don't need them in Canada. The ones we do have are smuggled across the US boarder.
Guns don't kill people - BULLETS DO
So far this month in my lovely city 2 innocent bystanders have been killed in cross fire.
My advice --> Do Not Come To Toronto It is Not A Safe City!

Question for you: When someone breaks into your home to steal your stuff, rape you wife/kids, attack or kill you and they have a gun, what are you going to do?
There are millions of guns in private hands in America alone. There is no way EVER that these guns are going to just disapear. Some of those guns are in the hands of criminials right now. In my opinion it's best to be armed, trained and prepared to defend what is important to you.
