I just tried Saxons for the first time and they kicked my ass.

For those who don't know, Saxons are where you hold two DBs above your head at full extension, a couple inches apart, and maintain that spacing as you do oblique-style side bends. The guy that told me about them said he got it from Pavel Tsatsuline or whatever his name is. Fuck me if I couldn't do it with more than 8 lbs.! (They don't have 10s in my gym). And my delts are screaming today.

So whoever that was, thanks, that is an AWESOME exercise.

That guy actually has an intersting exercise!

You aren not welcomed on this board! This board is reserved for GOOD guys only! Fascists like you are welcomed only on other, crappier boards!

ELITEFITNESS is the best! And we have the best! And you arent the best!

they are acctually called saxon bends.....there a few other exercise that i have heard of with the name saxon (saxon press, saxon lift etc etc)

i dont do them anymore...but when i did they kicked my arse

That is it!!! I gotta try them.

How far down do you bend over? Any pics of this? By chance...are these from Arthur Saxon (sp) ?

I have to try them too. Did you feel them in your mid-section at all? I believe when they were spoken of recently, on this board, they were touted as an oblique exercise.

TIA,

its on the "freaks of nature" site...cant recall the web address since they moved

i prefer standard side bends due to the weight you can use.....athough they way the weight pulls your body is very weird and challenging

Just to clarify, do you twist back and forth at the waist, or simply bend towards the ground?? I'm looking for some new oblique exrecises to throw in there.

Front to back? Side to side? Circular motion? C'mon...I need the info!!! :)
