He's pretty much a douche bag, yes. I imagine he puts on a hell of a show though - he's got some energy.

I just have NO respect for someone who tries to create a facade of a "struggle" and a "fight against the man" in order to show value. It's cheap, boring and has been done 100 times over. He is boring. He does not have an ego - he is palying a role that white 25yo's are buying RIGHT into.

Yep, that's the funniest part. I guess I was the same when I really like PE back in the day. Imagine being the only one of Asian descent in a PE concert yelling about fighting the power.

Musically he's great.......i could care less about the other bullshit to be honest. He's definetely a smart guy, which is rare to find in hip hop anymore....but he does say some stupid shit.

Especially with the state hip hop is in, it's good to have at least some talent around. He's a great producer and talib actually taught him how to rap decently.... Plus he embodies alot of the old school and underground.
People focus on image too much now anyways, and not music.

Kanye West has always been extremely confident in his skills. I wouldn't confuse that with an ego. He knew he would be hot and he has lost jobs because of that. If you work night and day and sacrifice your livelyhood to catch your dream (and actually succeed) this is the biggest accomplishment one can have
