High Red Blood Count - Need Information Please!!!

mace232

New member
My Red Blood count is high. If memory serves, it’s around the 19 range when it should be around 15.

I was previously on a Test E, NPP cycle. I’m also on TRT by my doctor (150mg Test Cyp every 2 weeks).

What can I do to lower my red blood count?

What causes high red blood count?

What steroids specifically raise red blood count?

Any assistance would be very appreciated!!!!

This is a normal side of taking steroids. I just make sure to take an aspirin a day. No reason to get worried.

Yeah, but my doctor is all on it. He keeps wanting blood tests which is totally screwing up my cycle schedule.

Does anyone know how quickly this value returns to normal after a cycle?

As someone already said, take 1-2 aspirin a day and itll thin your blood.

Aspirin 'thins' the blood by slightly inhibiting the ability of platelets to stick to each other. It does nothing to reduce the number of Red Blood Cells.

Yes, I will do it as a safety measure, but it does not solve my blood test problem.

Why reduce the RBC? You must be getting insane pumps and vascularity with all the extra blood flow, not to mention the effect on your Johnson.

I don't know what he's worried about. That's not all that high, it's usually measured around 50 when you're in trouble, and you have no symptoms of polycythemia vera I wouldn't worry about it.

My numbers may be wrong or different. The range we looked at was 13 to 17 with 15 being normal and I was at a 19.

I gave a pint today and he wants me to give a pint next week. Then more blood tests the week after.

Mace, fact is your doctor is trying to do his job. If my doctors took a blood sample during or right after a cycle, they'd be sticking probes in every available area. He's probably worried (you shouldn't be because this increase in red blood cells happens to everyone who takes a cycle).

Just relax and if it gets too much for you to deal with, come clean with your doctor or find a new one. Doctor patient confidence binds them to keep quiet, so he wouldn't call the cops. So listen to the guys above. They're all pros and know what they're talking about, but I do understand about all the blood tests. I have a few problems that require a blood test every six weeks.

Anyways, hope you feel good and wish you the best. Take care man,

Yeah, if you wanna stop this madness, just tell your doc you were using steroids..... He might give you a lil speech, but that's it...... Will prob stop all the blood tests...... Your Doc is just seeing a high RBC, and has no idea why, so he's trying to help ya...... What would be bad is if he did nothing..... So, either come clean with your doc, and stop all the blood tests, or put up with it till it's over.....

He knows it's due to Test Cyp as he is the one that wrote the script. I'm only on maintenance at this point.

How long does it take RBC to die down after a blood donation? Anyone know this answer?!

Well, if he knows you are on then why not ask him when RBC will return to normal. Seems like the Doc would know more than a bunch of peps on a forum.

If you give blood, that will decrease your RBC right away.....

To start, relax, your count is high, yes, but not TOO high.
To lower you must discountinue steroids temporarily, and make some pct.
All roids increase red blood cells somewhat, but specially test, dbol, anadrol.

I am a Medical Technologist and work in the clinical laboratory at my local hospital. The normal values you are looking at 13-17 for males is probably your hemoglobin measurement, another value which is measured is your hematocrit, which a value of 35-37 considered normal, anything over 50 docs. want to take off blood to bring it down. Another value is your actual red blood cell count ( usually counted in millons, with 5 million around normal) All three are a good measure of how much blood you have and they are mathematically related, normally each one should be three x the other. For ex. if your RBC count was 5 (million) your hemoglobin should be 15 (5 x 3) and your hematocrit (hct) should be 45 (15 x 3). I use test cyp alot and my hemoglobin goes to about 19 after a while on each cycle but so far I feel fine.
Doing test and tren right now but havent tested myself in a while to see what my count is, I am sure it is high though. Its a nice advantage of working in the lab, we can test ourselves for free, not to mention when we want to run a test. level on ourselves, we just plug in a low value, go to a doc and its an instant test script, well knock on wood, so far anyway. Anyway your rbc's will go up on juice, so dont get to stressed

This sounds like a good idea but telling your doc can have problems. They can't call the cops but if you have an HMO they can drop your coverage because of "reckless behaviour." You really need to read your policy before you tell your doc.

If I remember correctly, a pint of blood givin will lower your hgb count by 1 or 2 points. You're not dehydrated are you? That can give you a higher count.

interesting side not on the dbol, after an initial period of slightly rasing RBC , it can then reverse and cause anemia with extended use.

To finish this thread and for search purposes:

I gave 2 units of blood in a 2 week period. My RBC tested at a normal level.

Giving blood works.

Are you allowed to give blood after joining the dark side? I thought that eliminated you from ever giving again. I've given quite a bit of blood since I was old enough but now that I'm not exactly all naturale I stopped giving.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression they didn't want anyone doing that because of the obvious needles and also because some of the synthetics might have and adverse effect on someone that really needs it.

???

Nope, they didn't have a problem at all with it as it is for medical reasons (TRT).

Awesome. I'm glad to know I can still donate. Do you have a suggestion of how long after a cycle you should give? I'm not an 8on / 8 off guy. Would a month after my PCT be sufficient? I guess I should really go by my bloodwork right? Whenever it becomes normal you're good to go?

Sorry for the thread jack.

Sorry for the thread jack.

I don't know the answers to that however I am willing to bet you could do the red blood cell only - 2 pint donation (I forget the proper name) at any time.

You won't be able to donate blood if you answer truthfully to the questions.
He could because ot was medically documented as androgens will raise RBC's.
Most year round juicers will have high hematocrits-which can be dangerous at 50 and above.
Dehydration can effect levels.
Basically you are doping your blood with androgens like with EPO as it is the same mechanism-just adding a step. AAS some more than others cause the kindneys to produce EPO>RBC's produced by the bone marrow>RBC's live for 4 months.
Depending on one's size the removal of a pint of blood can result in a 1.5-2.5% reduction in RBC mass.
Like Uter said though there is a difference in blood test values and test measurements across the pop and testing labs.

i was just at the doc and he looked over my BC and gave me the People Eyebrow. that was all, he attributed it to me just quitting smoking.

whats an hmo?

This seems like a strange thread.......of all the AAS sides there are, what are the real problems if you have a hemoglobin count of 19? What is the doctor so concerned about?

He made the analogy that my blood was a little too 'thick', syrup thick.

My red blood count is high too- has been for years. Test is the major reason. I also have sleep apnea which is likely due to the test. Both contribute to higher RBC levels. My doctor prescribes 200mg Test/week. ( I double it on my own). He will also prescribe Deca if I can get my RBC count down. He says I must give a pint of blood a week to get the level down. I gave 2 pints last month aand it didn't work. Have to stick to the 1 pint a week to get the RBC down and get the Deca.

Pay attention to the date before you bump a 6+ year old thread.

200mg test wk most likely keeps your test levels a lot higher than 900-1000mg/dl. hence your high RBC count. Too much test for TRT. 125 for a few months would reduce your RBC. Why would you not be taking an asprin a day to help thin your blood?
