High Blood Pressure

Well-known member
I went to Walgreens and had my blood pressure taken. It was 170 over 120. My pulse rate was 86. I lifted 45 mkinutes before and was pretty calm. She did it twice and it was about the same each time. Shightly higher the second time. How bad is this? I'm "off" right now and I'm in the process of geting everything tested to srart my cutting cycle.

Thats not good...check it several times thruout the day...i would also considering purchaseing one they're not much(the digital one)around 24.00-36.00 and are very accurate. You may need some meds to control it!. Don't drag on this issue..hyperextension is a silent killer.

RADAR

I think he's talking about the blood pressure machine, hey have it there as a courtisy for thier customers, I think the second reading was you getting a little excited what was your BP during your cycle?

ya I just went to the counter and they had a digital cuff. She was hot so that could of had something to do with it. Is this real high? I feel kinda anxious most of the time.

that is getting dangerously high. You feel as is you get that anxious feeling? Do you get any palpitations, like your heart is bounding or feels like it skips a beat? Do you experience any type of pressure, such as in your carotid arteries in your neck?

Back at clemson when I was taking AS and Drinking alot it shot my BP way up, like 180/110. I felt horrible all the time, palpitations, anxious feeling, pressure in my cartoid arteries. Not fun.

get your own cuff and check it on a normal basis and regular intervals throughout the day. Like first thing in the morning, before workout, after workout, evening, before bed. Do not change any variables to see what type of pattern you develop.

Acute hypertension can induce a hemorrhagic stroke should it climb high enough and if you physically strain yourself, as in lifting. Chronic hypertension, over time, can cause many other cardiovascular concerns, such as atherosclerosis, arteriosclerosis, which ultimately lead to secondary pathologies like acute MIs, stroke risk, heart failure, peripheral vascular disease.

Dont mean to scare you, but yeah, get something done. I would not start another cycle until you have adequate control of the problem. Consider complementary and alternative medicine treatments. Look at diet, include more high quality fats if you dont already, maybe increase cardio, Green tea. Not only will these help reduce BP, but will also improve Blood viscosity, reduce vascular systemic inflammation, cholesterol and trigylceride profile and reduce risks for platlet aggregation and the formation of plaques.
I say Green tea, as an example, one facet of green teas benefits is that is acts as a mild angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor (ACE inhibitor) thereby helping with decreasing BP.

Great info Karma to you.
I have a heart murmur also. I get headaches when doing deads and squats. I feel anxious most of the time.

dude...
thats not pretty high...

ITS VERY FUCKIN HIGH!

i'd go see a doc right this sec!

Does youhimburn increase BP? I'm a little worried now, thanx statch.

I took it a walmart yesterday and it wasn't that high, but the little sign said for 13-15" arms. I have 11 so it might not be right..lol
I'm going to get one of those BP deals right now. Walgreens or Eckerds have them?

yeah, your primary and most important priorty right now is to concentrate on improving this condition. I dont think you necessarily need to immediately go run out to a doctor. I think you know exactly what they are going to tell you. So you take AS, huh? You need to stop that and it should improve. They are not going to just throw you on some type of antihypertensive, because normally when a patient goes on a hypertensive drug, it is long term. They would probably just want to see you back again for a follow-up.

When were you diagnosed with a murmur and do you know the specifics of your particular murmur? AS and hypersion is not exactly the best combo for your condition.

It is odd how anxiety can induce BP increases and how hypertension can induce anxiety. Funny huh?

I can't rember exactly what type of murmur. I think there is a pinched valve or something. Could this be causing lack of concentration also? I just came off a cycle 5-6 weeks ago. I should be normal now right? I'm also sweating more that i used to.

What do you mean about the arteries in my neck? I don't think this is related, but I have a huge neck.

My diet is pretty clean. I eat a ton of steak. I never use salt, and eat low carbs and just a basic clean protein geared diet.

No admiration for him,, read it. As far as he is concerned war always me failure,,
well as far as I'm concerned he is right!!

See you in Dallas

just wondering what valve the murmur is present in. And no, it wont cause concentration problems, unless your not getting enough blood and oxygen to the brain! J/K

I'm just referring to the carotid arteries in the neck. Sometime people with hypertension will get a sensation in their necks from the high pressure.

let me know how things go.

lower BP

two words:

ACE Inhibitor. It sounds like you might be a candidate for one. Ask your doctor and tell him the truth about your AAS use, and he or she should give a solid answer as to whether you need to take them or not.

I got the quote... just busting your balls. It's funny because anti-war types and anti-french types both use that quote.

I don't ever want to see you all in Dallas again... it's too hard on me. Our rivalry is fun, but a bit too instense at times. I think that's why you have high blood pressure. :D

I had the same thing happen to me a couple months ago. I was like 160/100. It freaked me out, so the next time I went to the doc I asked him about it. He told me that you should be sitting down/relaxed for 10-15 minutes before taking your bp. Just walking into the store raises it quite a bit, and if this chick was hot, that didn't help either. If you're normally an anxious person, having a bp machine at home isn't going to help. The next time you go to the drugstore, sit down and read a mag for 10-15 mnutes, then take the bp. Hopefully it'll be a lot lower. Good luck!

Ya best rivalry in football. It's unreal to play at that game, when you win. Almost too serious though.

Uh oh, the TX-OU rivalry. Beta, I'll bet you didn't know I was a T-sipper. But, you didn't hear me say that so you can still hook me up. LOL Bam
