Hi ya Shadow,

Okay it has been over a week since I have been taking the Anavar and I made some adjustments to my diet.. First off let me start off by saying the bloating and water retention is gone!! ;) Very happy and my muscles seem to be hardening, more defined and its only been a week and a half!! can anavar provide results this soon??? This is great!!!

Anyhow, I figured out what was causing me to have the water retention.. Cottage Cheese!!! (Extremely high in Sodium) Now that I am 5 1/2 weeks out all dairy and NPB & artificial sweetners are out of the diet!! :worried: but I am holding a lot less water!!! Looking a lot tighter!!

Anyhow, Shadow i wanted to ask you what is R-rala?? ( i think thats how you spell it) I noticed you mentioning in a few posts. What is it exactly and where do you buy it??

Also I have heard from people that 2 weeks out from a show oatmeal should be taken out of the diet b/c it causes water retention..Is this true??

Thanks so much.

Ischia :qt:

lol damn girl, the same thing happened when I was eating cottage cheese I bloated up like a blow fish.

As for the oatmeal it all depends on the person, I'm 1 week out from my 2nd show and am still eating 1/3C of oatmeal.

Glad to hear you are seeing some of the results from the var!

r-ala -- AF Store (http://www.anabolicfitness.net/shop/)

Here's a discussion about it that helps explain some: http://www.elitefitness.com/forum/showthread.php?t=393957&highlight=r-ala

RE: dairy, etc. YES GET RID OF IT! For the next 4 weeks you need to get your body down to only those things that are optimal. Anything with a lot of anything (e.g. sodium) that you arent' used to eating will cause a side effect like bloat. I'm 3 weeks post show and I'm still working on cleaning out eveything that affects me. Any extra amount of ANPB leaves me bloated for 2 days. Clear it all out!

Oatmeal -- I'm not sure what starchy carbs you are using right now - but since you have some time yet and you have a place in your diet for starchy carbs - I might suggest you run a little test. I'm sorry - I dont recall if you are carb cycling or what yet. But take each of the different types of starchy carbs you currently eat - e.g. oatmeal, yams, white potatos, cream of rice? -- Eat only one of these types on seperate days when you have starchy carbs in your meal plan. And then note how you look, how you feel during, at the end of that day, and the following morning. Then after you've done this with each of the diff carb types, see if there is one that is optimal for you - i.e. provides the best fullness, least bloat, least stomach ache, etc. And then use this as your starchy carb as you enter your last week or two of prep.

The science behind "oatmeal = water retention" -- never seen a study on it, but common sense says -- carbs like oatmeal, rice, cream of wheat, I guess even pasta (which I just stay away from in general) require water to be cooked in -- that means they are absorbing water. Particularly if you are at the point where you are needed to include water increase / decrease in your diet manipulation, that is additional water you have to account for and also get rid of. That then implies that a carb that doesn't require additional water to eat would be the more optimal way to go --e.g. yams or regular potatos.

Just another little side note about wheat-based stuff -- its estrogenic - this can also perpetuate water & fat retention (or non-optimal fat shedding).

Short answer:

Glucorell R taken before carb meals, insures those carbs are disposed of properly into your muscles helping you to maintain healthy low insulin levels, which is a powerful aid in preventing you from getting fat or insulin resistant. Go ahead and eat the carbs, but use Glucorell R first.

Glucose is what your body makes out of the carbohydrates you eat. Then your insulin shuttles that glucose around your body to the cells to use as food. Glucorell R™ makes your muscle cells accept several times more glucose than you do now. By causing the muscle cells to take up so much more glucose you are preventing it from going to the fat cells. That way you are helping to make your muscles stronger while preventing all that glucose from going to your fat cells. When your fat cells get the glucose it makes you fat and over time may eventually cause insulin resistance, leading to adult onset diabetes.

Hey huney... glad to see you're feeling good :)

I'm feeling good, just very hungry... oh well 1 more week woohoo...lol

As for the R-ala, I take 1 with all my carb meals, it helps get the carbs to the muscle. Read the thread Sassy posted about R-ala, lots of good information in there.
