Ok so to start off Ill start with my stats :)

Im currently at 205... yup thats pounds
Im vertically challenged at 5'3'' and I have NO clue what my body fat is except for a lot.
- Your goals: My goals are to be to 135 Ill even be happy with 150 by July. I know thats a lot of weight to dump but Im committed.
- Your current training & cardio schedule: I have a 6 month old and no one to really watch her so getting to the gym is near impossible for me. So right now I currently am doing Zumba at home (about an hour a day) and if I get time I try to do about 5.5 miles on my recumbent stationary bike.
- Your current meal plan: I also struggle with my meals. It can be challenging to cook something for myself with my daughter. I try to eat a couple scrambled eggs in the AM, then I do the zumba, put her down for a nap and then I try to have a salad or yogurt, then early evening I will usually snack on dry cereal like honey bunches of oats with almonds, and for dinner I have started making steamed chicken breasts (skinless) with a steamed veggie. REAPEAT every day minus saturday or sunday (Only days I get to spend time with hubby).


Basically I have NO clue how to even start to diet... what foods I should be eating and not eating, how to cook it... I assumed steaming was the best way... and I have gone through almost every diet pill out there and nothing seems to help. The only thing that came close was the Hydroxycut Hardcore. Im not looking to build muscle ... Id like to drop all the weight and tone the muscle I do have. Any suggestions from diet to weight loss aides I could take would be awesome!

Lol Rebecca I agree! Hubs brought home a frozen pizza yesterday and I was a little frustrated at that, and I told him "If its not in the house... I cant eat it". I let him enjoy and when he left for work I tossed the left overs asap so as not to be tempted. He has been a member of this site for YEARS and he knows a lot about the diet and stuff so he sat down with me last night and made out a grocery list with me. He has tried to talk to me about my diet before but I always kinda just let it go in one ear and out the other. Now Im regretting that. We have a couple natural grocery stores in the area so Im excited to go shopping this weekend and really get this diet jump started. I was looking over that first link that you sent me Psizzle and I noticed at the bottom he notes to eat fats, protein, veggies, and fruits every 3 hours. What if that is a little out of reach for me? Sometimes if Im out or whatever it can be a little difficult to make that every 3 hour mark. Would you recommend meal replacements? Like shakes or bars?

I personally believe that it's the total number of calories you take in within a 24 hour period that really counts, so if you can't eat every 3 hours, it's ok. The key to making a successfull change is to find something that works for you. I would start by writing down everything you eat for a few days. Get an idea of what you are taking in and also think about what is realistic for you to do, in terms of diet. We can help you set up a diet and get the calories down. I really believe that diet is 80% of the equation.
 
Thanks caligirl! That would be awesome if someone would help me create a diet. Dh wants me to eat every 3 hours like the post says ....i dont think he realizes that isnt possible for me. He is trying to help me create a diet but I feel more like Im being lectured than helped if that makes sense. So I dont think its beneficial for me to try to follow what he wants me to do. IDK ....

I think you have to start out small and do what works for you. It can be a lot like trying to learn a new language. People do all types of different diets and meal plans and see results because at the end of the day it's calories in vs calories out that creates weight loss. Keeping a food log is a great way to start and keeping track of triggers too....emotional events that trigger your eating. It'll help you identify patterns and you can start learning about what types of foods are better for you, calorie counts in some of those favorite comfort foods etc.
