if fox news is right about which guns were used, then it is 10 and 15 rounds respectively for the guns they listed.

the highest capacity, standard handgun (we're not talking about the AR styles pistols, glock 18's, or anything else out of the ordinary here) hold up to 17 rounds.

these are all averages...so don't bite my head off

most 22's (the ones i have seen and shot) hold 10 rounds
9mm's hold anywhere up to 17 rounds (depends on size, model, and manufacturer)
.40's hold up to 15 rounds
.45's up to 13

rifles can hold up to 200+ rounds depending on the magazine/drum.

cool man, nobody's biting anybody's head off. i was just giving crew9 a reason why extended clips could make a mass murderer's job easier than if he was using regular clips

Ive owned many glocks and currently own a .40 Glock which holds 13. The Glock 9mm holds 15 tops, if its a full size, if its a compact then only 13.

the glock 21 is a .45 and holds 13 rounds.
the glock 17 is a 9mm and it holds 17 rounds (i have 5 mags in front of me)
the glock 22 is a .40 and it holds 15 rounds

if an insane person wants to go on a suicide mission you are going to have a very hard time stopping him. ban guns? two of the worst terrorist attacks in this country were done with box cutters and a truck with fertilizer. the liberals and the left are in full attack mode as they take advantage of this tragedy to promote their agenda. last week it was the 1st admendment with imus. this week the 2nd admendment. soon there will be a dem. on the house floor blaming bush

It was on the news that he purchased the guns at Roanoak Firearms. Virginia has some of the most lax gun laws in the United States. There is no waiting period. The person just has to have an instant background check to see if they have been convicted of a felony. If not, they can get the gun same day.

From what the students say, he would empty a clip, drop the clip on the floor, replace the clip and go again. He was shooting for over 15 minutes. Averaged 3 shots per person.

Would it be any different if his choice of destruction was not a firearm?

Gun Ban will not fix the actions of mentally unstable people.

A more strict gun law would make the legal purchase more difficult - legal purchasing of firearms, with real background checks, multiple character reference would at least tighten up things while keeping a paper trail.

Had charges been pressed against this young man for the stalking and fire setting he would have failed the background check. Being who he was - he would not have had the positive character references to be considered for a permit. In NY if the person that has made your character reference is questionable or had any flaw in their history - you will not be considered if you can not come up with a different reference.

If, with the stricter gun laws like in some other states - NY specifically you threaten to kill someone or multiple people one phone call is all it takes for someone to show up at your door to seize your firearms.

Ban guns - and there will just be more machinist making the parts to make guns. Do you know just how easy it is to build a weapon?

If people would take threats all kinds - a bit more seriously.
If people would understand the undoable damage a firearm can do.

I agree with you - it's scary to think of some of the people out there that have firearms. I made the mistake of being in Arkansas with a car with NY plates - I was followed and chased by a white pickup, 3 guys, 2 of which were pointing hunting rifles at me. Do you know what the local police did? The asked what I was doing in THEIR STATE anyway.

If the world were a perfect little place and people didn't break laws that were created to protect them I would agree with you but it's not so while I do support better gun laws in all states for all firearms not just pistols - I also support the right to bear them in the first place.
