Help with weight training for endurance

I'm looking to incorporate weight training to help me with my overall endurance. I'm going to possibly be doing a half marathon or a marathon in the next year and a half. I would like to use weight training to help me get stronger so that I can improve and become a better runner as well. Do you think I should train primarily my calves, hamstrings, and quads or do you think I should still train upper body?
