Help with my HUGE waist.

Grizzly

New member
Ok, the smallest I've ever gotten my waist was for the show that I did last year. I was down to about 35 1/4". As of two weeks ago, when I was dieting, it was about 37 1/2". After starting to eat again, it's blown up to 39 1/2"- 40". What gives? My BF is about 10-11%. This really pisses me off. I know dudes who are fat motherfuckers with 36" waists and mine is 40". How do I fix that? The only time it's ever small is when I'm dieting and I think that that has more to do with low muscle glycogen levels and water loss. Help me. I have some nice pants that I want to wear, but they're getting too damn tight! Is there anything that I can do?

Liposuction? Maybe have your pelvis sanded down. I've got a fairly thick waist myself and don't think there's a whole lot one can do about it. But look on the bright side. If you go into pro bodybuilding there are guys like Orville Burke and Craig Titus who have huge distended bellies from their GH use. You'll look positively wasp-like compared to them.

It's all proportionate

I have a 37 inch waist myself but you should focus on the size of your chest and shoulders. It's all proportionate. A 40 inch waist with a 56 inch chest looks fit. Don't focus on your weak areas.

I hate to use the G word here, but if your waist is around 36-37 at 10-11% bf, I doubt there's much you can do. Some of us will never have that trim waist that some guys have. But like LB said, long as you're proportional, I wouldn't worry about it much.

You answered your own question Grizzly...you need to diet. If your waist has grown 4" + in that short of a time span it's water and fat that you have accumulated. Check your diet.

Love Bone...that has got to be the worst advice I have ever heard "Don't focus on your weak areas" WTF is that about? That’s a good way to get ones physic way our of proportion, can you say symmetry?

Oh, there's been no, or very, very, very minimal, fat gain in the last couple of weeks. It's just that when I start to eat a lot of carbs I blow up. I'm lean right now, 10-11ish, but it's still about 40". I just don't get it. I don't know. Maybe I should change over to strongman competition. Bill Kazmeier had a huge waist, too. Guess I'll just be happy with my good trunk strength and stability.
