Help solve a silly theoretical argument

Ok this will be silly, but bear with me. My brother and I are having this argument:

Suppose someone were to somehow, someway, have ZERO percent bodyfat. I say they would die, not possible, my brother says it is possible and that you wouldn't die.

Lol who is right?

0% bodyfat is not possible.... now having 0% bodyfat over the surface of our sketal muscle may be possible?

But totally ZERO bodyfat... not possible. We need fat around our organs to survive.. plain and simple.

It will be argued for a long time i'm sure.

But I brought up the fact of surface bodyfat which is what most of us think of.. but that's not "total body fat."

its impossible, you'd die before you ever got to 0%. now smack your brother for arguing with you.

One you would way to much heat from your body, next since fat produces testosterone, you would have none and probably pass out.....then die!!!

Hypothetically

I completely agree with this bro......................your brother probably is thinking about the outer fat, as in no fat or water retention by the skin.........but fat is all around the vital organs and we do need it.

Theoretically not possible. Every cell membrane in your body is enclosed in a lipid layer cell membrane. Every nerve in your body depends on fatty insulation to be able to fire without interference. Every hormone in your body is fat based. That doesn't even begin to deal with the lubricants in your joints, lubricants needed between muscles, skin, organs so you don't turn into a solid, unable to move block (like a sufferer of scleroderma - ouch!).

Have fun in your argument! (O'course, your bro' may be like, don't confuse me with facts, man, my mind is made up!)
