Which one should I get? For reference I can only double overhand grip 225lbs for about 15-20 seconds before it drops.

No.1401 c. 60 lb.
For beginners, seniors, rehab, and easy warm-ups.

No.1402 c. 80 lb.
For teenage athletes, weekend warriors, strong guys who like light warm-ups.

No.1250 c. 100 lb.
For everyone who is ready for serious grip training: athletes, public safety & miilitary personnel..

No.1251 c. 140 lb.
Most people who lift weights can't close this gripper. If your safety or someone else's depends on your hand strength, master this level.

No.1251.5 c. 167.5 lb.
Ease into the No. 2.

No.1252 c. 195 lb.
Success here means you've got a grip to brag about. If someone's life or your sport depends on your grip strength, conquer this gripper.

No.1252.5 c. 237.5 lb.
A stepping stone to the No. 3.

No.1253 c. 280 lb.
Certifying on the Captains of Crush No. 3 Gripper is the most widely-known and highly-respected feat of grip strength in the world.

No.1253.5 c. 322.5 lb.
Warning: the No. 4 is in sight.

No.1272 c. 365 lb.
Certify the No. 4 and you have proven yourself on the final exam for crushing grip.

I dunno man I hate to say it holding 225 for 15-20 seconds is pretty damn weak. I was holding 275 for 41 seconds and got the 150 and 250 heavy grippers, I still cant do the 250 yet (I rarely ever work on it though). I can do the 150 for 40 reps. Captains grippers are harder than heavy grips.

Here's where I asked the same question a while ago:

I would say the 100 and 140 lb one though

I looked over your post, a lot of good information. The heavy grip 100lb one says its for beginners, women and warmups. The one for from captain of crush 100lb one says it's for serious grip training, athletes etc. Are they both the same?

If the one from heavy grip says 100lbs is for beginners, women and warm-ups then I think I may have to go with a 140lb or 150 lb gripper. I currently have an EVERLEAST XT gripper. I searched and searched and no site shows what the resistance poundage is.

Heavy grippers are a lot easier to close than captains grippers. All gripper poundages are kind of bullshit because they are measured at different points and shit. I hate to say it but 225 for 10-12seconds is a fairly weak grip....I know lots of people I met couldnt even close my 150 heavy gripper. What is your deadlift at? I would get 2 grippers, one for warmup and one for hard sets

Buy the trainer model to start. I have the trainer, no 1, and no 2. The number 1 is pretty tough and I can't close the number 2. My grip is pretty solid too.

Deadlift without straps, over under grip is 385.

I ended up ordering the Heavy Grippers instead because they had 2 pairs for $30 as opposed to $20 a pair at captain crush. plus shipping with them was cheaper $8 vs $12 from Captain crush. It was located in Colordado so I didn't have to pay sales tax.

So I bought the 100 pound one and 150 pound one.

I did the same too....lol! I would have gone with the 150 and 200 though.....100 will be REALLY light...and 150 is pretty light. Work your way up to doing the 150 for like 50 reps and take it around with you....you'll be amazed at how many people CAN't do any reps
