No shit, I'm no expert on boat motors, but once it gets chugging, I don't think the starter does anything. Just like the battery, it only comes into play to start.

Chug and die = fuel problem.

Yep, if it started, then it isn't the starter that isn't working...lol.

The battery was bad. A friend who used to race stock cars helped me out.

He was revving her up to 4300 rpm within 30 seconds. Kind of unnerving. Load as all hell.

Since it is a two stroke, almost impossible for the engine not to be getting proper lube though.

Batteries have to be tested under load to know jack shit about them.

My parallel mounted 6 volts tested as good but I took them out anyway. All batteries should be the same when mounted parallel.
