I think the problem is that those who believe have the ability to directly impact little things like how much taxes we pay, what we can and cannot drive, etc.

I only wish this was as simple as a to-may-to to-mah-to disagreement, but when it starts to impact our day to day lives it becomes something else entirely.

I can see your point with the first bullet. I've got no problem with people disagreeing about God, Global Warming, etc. But when my money is involved, I should get a choice.

The Liberal party around these parts wants to put a carbon tax on everything.

I talked to one person representing the tax.

"How do I know that you'll spend it wisely?"

"We'll have a committee where the public can review it."

"Where was this committee when the GST was raised or when the Canadian DMCA was put into place?"
