Hello all and happy holidays!

Ok, here's the stiuation... My son (who is 15 and will be 16 in January) is invovled in a high level of hockey and is looking to add mass to his body. I was just wondering what would help him accomplish this? Also is there any worries for a 15 year old kid taking any of these supplements? Again, thank you

Yes, that is one (and only) thing we have looked into. But there are so many different types/kinds! What is the best for him? Could you post a link to a website here? Thanks a lot for your help

i'm getting great results from phosphagen HP.. but more important than creatine is: FOOD

seriously get him going on some calories and protein and you should see him grow like a weed.

Another quick question, people have mentioned portein shakes to help a lot. Which one do you reconmend for best results? Thanks again, you guys are great

well you have three types of protein shakes out there..
there's the MRP's (meal replacement) shakes
there's the weight gainer shakes
and then there's the normal protein shakes.

if your looking for calories and protein, i recommend nlarge2 by prolab
Best MRP i ever tasted was triple threat by Massquantities.
Best protein powder for the buck: optimum nutrition whey protein. (stay away from the strawberry flavor, chocolate and vanilla are ok)

p.s. don't buy these at GNC, you'll get raped of your money.
go to online stores like www.dpsnutrition.com.. they have the best prices i've seen..

i dont know about that i jes did a little experiment in september i drank 3 protein shakes plus 2 regular meals and i gained allot then in novmeber i just ate regular food didnt gain anything

Protein is essential in muscle building. The shakes do help you a bit by supplying some protein in your system, although great drawback to whey is that it's in and out of your body in less than 2 hours. If you do go for shakes use it as a supplement and not the basis. They are right diet is the most important factor in all of this. You need excess of calories to grow. If he works out it would be best to consume a shake right after the workout w/ some carbs and then go for a solid meal. But like i said it all comes down to calories, you need enough of them to grow and if he's playing hockey his metabolism is probobly really high and needs to eat much more than he already is.

As far as the creatine, i think the best out there and the purest is made from Creapure. Prolab sells it at DPSnutrition.com for pretty cheap. It's the purest and the best i've ever used. I don't like twinlab products at all. And i have heard good things as well from people who have used phosphagen as mentioned above.

Ok, I justed checked dpsnutrition.com and found the creatine for $25.95 per 1000 grams. How much would you suggest taking a day? Also is there any specific protein shake you can recomend? Thanks

Go w/ a big 5 pound tub of whey. Optimum Nutrition, Prolab, and SPortsOne all sell it at DPS in the price range b/w $24-28 If you pay more i think you're getting ripped off. Another good place that sells Whey Protein Concentrate for $4.25/pound is www.proteinfactory.com but make sure you sweeten it w/ Splenda.
