Ps- I'm trying to avoid the orthodox candle set, lotion set, apple set, fruit basket set, or picture frame set....(what? my stepmonster was a teacher...i saw all that crap every christmas)...of course, i could always go the emblematic christmas ornament set route.
I didnt read the thread but up until my girls were taken from me I would have my children make thier teachers (and the student teacher) gifts. I had four children and was also a single parent with very little money. You can imagine it was quite a production. Matter of fact as I didnt have any money we made gifts for everyone. I used to do A LOT of baking, even earned money selling banana nut bread one year, but I digress....
With my girls I would make tie-dye T-shirts or christmas tree ornaments, hand-paint aprons, etc.
It shouldnt cost you more than 10$ (20$ tops) and you will spend time with your daughter MAKING something together for her teacher. Imagine the satisfaction and happiness your daughter will feel giving her teacher a one-of-a-kind gift!!! Have her make a construction paper card and the one-of-a-kind gift is ready.
