Hello my dears, I am back!

musclemom

I Told You So ...
EF VIP
Back from a land of Spanish moss and magnolias, back from a place of the memories of rice plantations and oak lined lanes ... Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It's been nearly a month I've been gone ... two weeks were spent on vacation, the rest I've spent inside my head. Can't say I learned anything ...

South Carolina ... lemme tell you, kids, that is one hot, humid muthufucka. Seriously. I'm talking sweat your balls off, do not even think about touching me, hot. And it's only May. Frig that, next time I'll go in April.

Beautiful and very different from Pennsylvania but it was a very, very weird vacation in ways I can't explain.

Oh, and we bought a new (used) car. A 2003 Toyota Highlander. Trust hubbie and I to buy a new car 4 days before traveling 500 miles from home towing most of our worldly goods.

BTW, I don't recommend camping at Myrtle Beach State Park ... well, unless you like airplanes (great beach, great pier, unfortunately it's under a municipal airport flight path ... funny they didn't mention that on their site).

So tell me, my darlings, what have I missed? Fill me in on the general dish and dirt. Who is banned? Who has returned? Who is perma-banned? Who quit voluntarily and who is ghosted? Who do I need to stop looking for and who has become, like the cat hair in my house, everywhere whether I want it or not?

And yes, dears, I'm witchier than ever

WB!

Not sure what went down with the Chris/Smurf thing. That's the only good drama I know of.

I just came back about a week ago...after being gone like at least a year. Not much had changed in that amount of time. Other than all the cool people are gone. (sparing a few)

Hey U!!!!!
And so you found me :)

Shamanism is my newest hobby ... check out books by Michael Harner and Sandra Ingerman ... what a strange trip it can be, seriously.

Was Huge into Casteneda's narrative of Don Juan.
Met a Filipino Shaman, who well.... cleaned a family member's home in Manila.

Out of my league. Some shit U just can't Google, to understand, abide in.

Reminds me to just get basics. Self Control.

Smurf had a pre-Chris90210 EF hookup?

Dude must've had some vibes, and personality that I didn't catch.

Fuck, I forgot his name. By the time I got here, both were passing each other on downslope.

Here is a thread, that made me 'What the fuck does L/Smurf... see in this dude?'

Hold on... I'll find it.

Peeps who are mainstays can relate, I dunno bout how her and Lumberg met, but clearly, by the time I got here they didn't have the 2as1 chemistry that her and 90210 had. oohhh..... yeah, Lumberg, that was his name.

LOL, poboy would've had a field day with this, and udub vs. chris debacle.

What the hell? Why are they gone?! - I've spent the past couple days at the lake, but I feel like they were here before I left - maybe not, I barely get a chance to log on anymore!!

HI MM!! :qt:

And so you found me :)

Shamanism is my newest hobby ... check out books by Michael Harner and Sandra Ingerman ... what a strange trip it can be, seriously.

I have always been interested in this, and have really enjoyed reading about it. The last few books I read actually brought it all together for me in a very practical way-the books by don Miguel Ruiz. The Four Agreements, the Mastery of Love, Beyond Fear, and the Voice of Knowledge.
They sort of tie in to the Castaneda books in terms of naguals, seeing, being the storyteller of your life, how parasites affect your life unless you don't feed them, and so on. cool stuff.
welcome back!!
spanish moss and magnolias-wow, sounds very romantic!!!
:)

If you can be a Shaman, can I be a Jedi?
You don't call yourself a shaman, you have to earn the title by your works.

Stop and think a moment, for all the thousands of years humans have been around, successful modern medicine and psychology have been around barely 300 years. The shaman and the medicine man/woman of the tribe was essential to the health and success of the community. Michael Harner started out as an academic anthropologist who focused on the shamans of the remaining indigenous cultures.

If you don't believe in a world beyond the one you live in, that's your perogative, but you shouldn't mock the beliefs or experiences of others.

lol@ that being remotely true

WTF I keep getting messages of people saying they were bant for a reason NO they were NOT, I was in platchat with smurf, chris, angel and needto when they asked needto to ban them because they no longer wanted to be here since the board has nothing to offer them anymore, they said hey wanted it bant to get closure, they did not "do" anything they didnt go through the back door they VOLUNTARILY left....

Nangiggles, I'll only say this once. I'm an elite mod on here and I have access to a lot more information that you do. I know pretty much every tiny thing that happens on this board, and so do the rest of the mod team.

Smurfy and Chris did not voluntarily walk out. They are banned. They are no longer allowed to be on this board.

They both broke several rules.

Chris has been talking shit about EF on another board and questioned mods more than once. Also, he challeged mods when Smurfy was de-modded.

Smurfy was de-modded about a week before she was banned because she challenged the admin team and broke the rules that were decided upon by the rest of the mod team. She was no longer capable of leading the chat board and moddingit because she was playing favorites with Chris, letting him get away with certain things, banning certain people because Chris didnt like them and her decision were effected by her emotions. We all know that shouldn't be allowed on here. She also continued to delete / edit threads on here and bragged that she is "pawning EF" in front of people (after her mod powers were remoed - there was a glitch in the system)

Now that you know what happened, I expect no more questions on why Smurfy or Chris got banned and non of that nonesense that they voluntarily stepped out.

Now I would like to say this: I'm sad to see Smurfy go. I really liked her. She did good things for this board and was a fair mod. Problem is she let her emotions get the best of her and everything went downhill.

Thanks for taking over MM's welcome back thread with this shit :)

There's two sides to every story as Traz explained. Smurf was well liked here by nearly everyone. Being a moderator is a tough job.

While we need not discuss this matter further since you have explained things quite explicitly, I want you to know I appreciate you explaining the situation as I was away when all this happened, and I was asking for latest news after all :qt:

Im usually a pretty peaceful person but I dont appreciate your tone about what I may or may not say, but you're the mod and I'll comply, however I did not hijack this thread since MM herself asked in her post who was banned, who left, etc

That is all :mix:

Getting back on track, what is Shamanism MM? I googled it but so many stuff comes up... witch Dr, religious ceremonies, etc

This page explains it pretty well. What I'm more interested in is called neoshamanism (which is what Caroline practices):

Shamanism and Healing by Caroline Kenner - About Shamanism

In essence, the shaman was combination tribal doctor/psychologist working primarily by "journeying" (entering into a light trance state and contacting spiritual helpers or teachers). I'm familiar with trance journeys, called pathworkings, in paganism and this is sort of a natural extension of those practices, though less structured and more about moving into the middle and primarily lower worlds than the upper (or astral) world.

In essence, for the atheists out there, more psychic mumbo-jumbo wackness from MM :qt:

Welcome back sista! I have always found you to be an insitghtful addition to the boards. We haven't always seen eye-to-eye, but I appreciate that you like myself are a seeker...

Blessings,

These are the rules. That post was not only for you. It was for everyone.

I'm not sure what you meant by tone, but regardless you were the one who seemed so strung out and upset with that fact that "everyone keeps telling you they got banned."

You were so sure that you were right, and I felt the need to correct your information and let you know that you were misinformed.

Anyways, this ends here. Please and thank you.

Actually my husband is reasonably confident he holds dual citizenship as he is a member of a Canadian Mohawk tribe. Does it rain all the time like Washington state?

Canada isn't completely out of the running ... I've never been there, now you need a passport to cross the border (used to be able to do it with a birth certificate) and the damned things are so freaking expensive :redhot:

If indeed he is a member of a Mohawk Tribe in Canada, then he would hold duel citizenship....

I live in the interior or BC, so not so much rain.. I am right in the Mountians. It does rain, but not like the coast.

Check out Nelson, Rossland, Slocan Valley BC...

Oh yeah, he's a member, card carrying and everything. He'd have an acre of land on the reservation if we went there but I really don't want to go to that part (right outside of Montreal, like I said, I'm a bit over winter).

Thank you for the links :qt: I'll check this out. I thought I wanted to go south but S. Carolina was just ungodly. I do want to get away from winter heating season, I just can't see how we can manage retirement (we have nothing in retirement savings).

Honestly, I think if/when we do move we'll probably avoid getting connected with another pagan group for practice purposes. It's okay to get together once in a while to share sabbats but honestly, pagans are just like any other group, you get them together and you start running into politics and power plays. The group we're in now is better than most, but we've still had our share of BS issues.

I can't afford it, hun, either fiscally or physically. Frankly, my joints don't like the winter so much these days. Were it not for the cold I'd be sorely tempted to move near the coast of Maine.

I guess you could go to Texas then. Cost of Living is cheap and weather is warm/hot.

Oh, and hi, and welcome back! :)

Relax. It was a joke. If you want to be a Shaman, that's fine. My friend wants to be a Jedi, that's also fine. It's much more interesting then the other options.

:D

I'm sorry, I was snappish, which was uncalled for.

I actually don't know if I want to try to become a shaman. I seem to have a knack for some of the practices but as my husband points out, I'm inherently anti-social. I like to help people, but am only comfortable associating with them on a very limited basis.

Jedis are sort of like Shaolin monks with light sabers IMO :D Tell your friend he should consider studying Buddhism and Kung Fu :supercool

The filipino shaman, or wise man, I'm guessing was from cebu, vasaya or one of the 3000 islands that make up the Phillipines. Family was having some 'problems'. I did not see the markings he left in their home, I didn't even have time to ask any questions.
However, the 'problem' was solved, as he said it would be. Bottom line, normal looking older fellow. Could not speak english, and I can't speak Vasayan or Tagalog... and he was not in the mood to entertain my questions.

Either way, I'm always fascinated with the Nagual tradition of Shamanism in Mexico. Your past of being sick, and the unbeaten path, would academmically... in a 'story' fit that. However, yeah, it's not like the university is offering a masters in Shamanism.

No worries. It's all good and other positive statements. My God tells me to forgive and I do that.

Praise be to the last Son Of Krypton!

I have dropped goo all over Myrtle Beach, FYI. Beaches are fairly crowded. I will be in Hilton Head shopping in a couple of months, wanna come?

Smurfy is banned? For Gods's sake, why?

I am glad you had a nice vacation, mama....regardless of the planes :-)
Go back to Page 1 of this thread. Alcatraz was nice enough to explained it very succinctly.

Couple of months ... that's like, August, right?

HELLL NO!!!! What are you, nuts?!?

I will NEVER go back there between May and October. November through April seems like the only sane times, temperature wise. I don't like the cold but jesus, I never realized how much I really frigging hate the humidity ... oh, and the bugs ewww.

LOLZ, you never realize the diffrence the humidity makes in the temps here. You think it makes the heat hotter, freaking 32 here is like freaking -10 up in yankee land.

It wasn't helped by the fact we were staying in our trailer (a teardrop). The damn things were designed by a company that's based in Wisconsin. GREAT for cold weather camping, but a bitch in the heat. I couldn't sleep. I honestly felt sick most of the vacation. The trailer has an air conditioner but it's such a small space that you're either freezing or sweltering.

I wish I'd known I could get a hotel room for basically what we paid at Myrtle Beach state park. We weren't that far from the beach but got ZERO breeze. I kind of expected it to be like N. Carolina outer banks but live and learn.

Oh snap, you talking bout the place there where they have the golf cart strip at night and all the kids cruise the lil beach strip on their golf carts and stuff.

Saw golf carts in the campground, but not on the beach. It's the beach with the big tall fishing pier. There's a Myrtle Beach (where we were) and North Myrtle Beach. Huntington Beach state park is about 11 miles south (I really wanted to go there, but forget it, continually booked solid).

Oh, and we didn't know Myrtle Beach state park is directly under a municipal airport fly zone ... the planes mostly stopped from 10:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. (the air conditioner drowned them out anyway).

Been to a camp ground there, kinda south of myrtle called Pirates Cove, I think.
