Hello, help me, im a newbie.

I have been skinny all my life, and in the past few months i have been going to the gym 3 times a week to get some prelimanery strengths up.

i just have a few queries.

whats the best way to put on bulk to start with, i dont mind if there is a little fat there to, it wouldnt go a miss.

I bought some nitro-tech and the first few i had i mixed it with water which was a huge mistake as it was thin and lumpy and eventually it would leave a taste in my throat that wanted to make me throw up.

So now i am going to buy some more, maybe the chocolate flavour and i will mix with milk properly with a little electric mixing thing. I plan to have two shakes a day. Im wondering how much protien i should look to intake a day, im about 145lbs just now, hence the reason for bulking and muscle gain.

Also, what other dietary changes would you lot recommend i make...?

thanks for reading this, help a noob :)

for 5x5 info, click here

then click the 5x5 link there.

I would switch to Optimum Whey. Tastes better, and is cheaper, and works just as well (better in my opinion.)
(about 19.99 / 2.2lbs @ gnc....even cheaper online.)

Eat...eat ....eat. Chicken, Beef, and fish is always good.
Don't forget Potatos, rice, and green vegetables.
You should keep track of what you take in, because most people usually fall short in calories if they don't (including me).

I think he means 5 sets of 5 reps. Back to food - eat 7-8 meals a day (every 2-3 hours). Eat good food with high protein, take in good carbs such as yams, potatoes, rice. Eat chicken, beef, salmon for protein. Eat your vegi's. Keep a log. I use www.crosstrainer.ca for my nutrition and weight log. Buy a good protein supplement for some meals. I prefer Labrada's V60 or Dorian Yates Protein. Mix up your protein in skim milk in a blender. You will be much happier and will not have the lumps. I mix protein powder, skim milk, banana and crushed ice in a blender. Nutrition is so important. Stay away from wasted calories such are sugars. Go to the diet board on here and read. Good luck.
