Note the way Latimer's text alludes to deeper signification by a kind of epistrophe of the present suspicion -- that He-man and his minons wish to be penetrated in their deepest recesses. (Denial actually inflames suspicion.) Yes, it's a true example of a poststructural metaphorical displacement.
