All the gals I've known that have gone on Depo have gained a TON of weight,

Yup, my thoughts exactly. One of my good friends went from a size 4 to a tight size 10 in a fairly short period of time without changing her diet or excercise routine thanks to Depo. The shot scares the hell out of me, to be perfectly honest - because it's really long-acting, if you have a nasty reaction to it, you're stuck with the side effects for months.

if men were to administer these shots i believe that the same concerns would arrive.

personally, i don't want anything in my body that is long lasting except omnadren,sustanon,cyp, or enanthate

I agree, its only fair. But from all the articles I have read about the male birth control pill and such, it seems that the male chemistry and such is tougher to deal with, and its easier to damage a male's reproductive system with temporary chemical sterilization.
