Has anyone done DB presses for HST?

I just finished my first HST cycle, which I couldnt be more then pleased with. For my next cycle I was considering adding either DB shoulder press or ethier DB incline or flat press. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with that on HST or similar routine?

I do DB shoulder presses instead of BB because of a moderate shoulder imbalances. I'm diggin it. Any more specific questions?

I think I will do DB for shoulders too. Besides, I like BB presses for chest anyways. Anyways, thanks for all the help with the program. It has worked great.

The only problem with dumbells for HST is towards the end of the 5-rep period you can get into some heavy dumbells. If you extend that into the forced rep weeks, then you will need a spotter to help you, whereas with barbells you can use a cage or rack for safety and convenience.

Do dumbells for this cycle, then go back to the bars for the next one.

Hey bro could you go into a little detail as to what gains you made on HST? I'm really interested in giving it a try...

Ok. Bodyweight went from 214 to 222.

Incline press: original 5 rep max 295, finished 335 1x3
Bench Press: original 5 rep max 355, finished 385 1x3. 405 for 1
Squats: original 5 rep max 315, finished 385 1x3
Military press: original 5 rep max 215, finished 245 1x3
cg press: original 5 rep max 325, finished 345 1x5

Theses are just some of my best improvements. Everything went up. I lost a good amount of body fat and gained about .5 inch on my arms.

ok I'm sold... Those are serious improvements, and considering the amount of time you've been lifting it's mindblowing. Great job!

Thanks bro. I was quite pleased. A lot may have been because it was a complete change from what I was doing so my body reacted to the change. Nonetheless, it is a great workout and I am sure you will enjoy it.

Switch DB -> BB

I was just thinking about this today.

I'm gonna start out with dumbells and switch to bb later. BB exercises allow you to use more power & force than you can w/DBs. This will work well w/ the progressive overload and I think it's a good idea.
