The new Myoplex Lo Carb Bars????? LOL I'm laughing because I just typed bras instead of bars.... (Y'had to be there)

They taste absolutely lovely, because usually most bars tast a bit yuckky to me, and I don't eat them often, and we don't have an amazing variety productwise as you do in the US. Which is why I ever go to the US on holiday, I stock up on all your products.

Anyhoo, the lemon Cheesecake one tastes just like a cake!! It's total joy at 30g or Protein and just 8g of carbs. Yum central, as far as convenience goes, this is the best.

Just FYI

My two pence sterling.

those bars are good-however, there are lower carb bars that taste better-the low carb bars by biochem and metabolift bars by twinlab-also, the iron tek 3 carb bars

Mindgame.... I'm jealous....

This is Brtain my friend!!!

We haven't got the drinks here yet, (I wish)good lord it probably took us the best part of the Millenia to get the frigging bars LOL!!

I've tried the Blueberry bar, infact I'm eating for my mid-afternoon snack now and it is even more fantastic than the Lemon one I first tried, this tastes too fabulous for low carb honestly. Bill Phillips - he may wear spray-on cycle shorts, but he can sure make a yummy lo-carb bar!!:D

check out the ingredients-the coating's got alot of hydrogenates- there are better choices... designer, pure protein- taste great.

Lemon

Pure Protein just came out with a Lemon...2 carbs!

Designer Whey also makes a Lemon low carb (7)

I find these brands to be more filling than the Ult Carb2 or the Irontech ..... both of which are made by the same company, Country Life.

Another kick ass bar is the cherry Solid Protein made by the Isopure peoples.

Most bars taste a little gross to me. There was one I really liked, but of course I can't remember it (I'm no help). But people eat them basically because it's convenient and you know exactly what you're getting. I always try to eat as much real food as possible.

What about glycerine?

Let's talk about the huge amounts of glycerine in many of todays tastier bars. At 4.32 calories per gram and unknown nutritional value I wonder what it all means. I'm sure there is someone out there who can clarify the part glycerine plays in this game. My understanding at this point is that the cellular hydration and texture benefits far outweigh the meager calories that are counted in the total btw. Any insight folks?

Sheena...

try the EAS vanilla low carb shake... its actually
damn good... they come in 4 packs and are ready to
drink... just throw em in the fridge for that cool
refreshing protein shake without the carbs... its got
two grams of carbs... both are FIBER!

I'm not overly concerned with the glycerin, since from what I have read about it, it doesn't cause an insulin spike.

Thus, as long as the protein in the bar makes up 40% or more of the calories - I'm good to go. Of course, I try to get the lowest carb, lowests fat/sat-fat bars out there, but personally I have found that the Pure Protein bars taste great - especially the Smores flavor - its outstanding!!! (30g protein, 5 g carbs, 4.5 fat, w/3.5 of that being sat-fat).

I generally eat two bars a day (get them on GNC day, a box of 12 for $20, works out to $1.67/bar), and use them for a small meal (10 am and 4 pm).
