hands & feet numb on any cardio machine

ok for some reason my hands and feet go numb on any of the cardio machines after about 10 mins, does anyone else have this problem? How can i get rid of it?

My feet will go numb on the bike, but it's probably a problem with my wide feet and the straps on those Lifecycle machines. My hands will go numb while jogging for longer periods. I just try and shake them out and it solves the problem for a while. Also, on my road bike, sometimes my hands will go numb after 10 minutes yet other times I can ride for a few hours with no problem.

To me its annoying as hell, the worst is when im mountain biking and have to do something technical, which is tough with numb hands. Oh great AVI, thats my alltime favorite album

My feet go numb on the elliptical trainers. I heard from somewhere that it happens when the tendons in your ankle (achilles) is too tight or not stretched enough. Not sure if that's true but I have the same problem. Over time, it's getting better though.

This happens to me too. Anything where my feet stay put. Never if I'm on a treadmill or stair machine.

USMC, do you wear gloves when you go on rides?

It's blood circulation. Your heart is pumping away but it's still inadequate. It's venous pressure. Diabetics have this problem with circulation. That's why they are prone to gangrene and vericose veins in thier lower limbs. Do you have high cholesterol or diabetes?

Im in very good shape, have to be, so i dont think its circulation, but it still worries me. Can you be in good cardio shape, and still have poor circulation?

Absolutely

You don't have to be overweight to have cholesterol problems. Cholesterol is cholesterol. It relates to poor circulation, it doesn't care what kind of shape you're in. Like I said, poor venous pressure that inhibits the blood to be pushed from the outer extremeties back to the heart is not specific to body shape. I'll get some info for you on this. You have access to medical care. Tell the Doc about it and run some tests.

Do you think a beta blocker might help?

I'm not very knowledgeable on how a beta blocker would work in this situation. If you get some blood work done, you'll know specifically on what to take or do. I wouldn't do a thing untill then.

btw, OohRah! God bless the U.S, our Pres., and the best fkn military ever.
