gyno surgery question

I have an appointment to have my mild gyno looked at, and I am young enough to try and pass it off as naturally caused. I am not too big at 5'8'' 185lbs, so I figure I shouldnt have any problems.

Do you think that they will test me for actual steroids, or will they just check my testosterone levels?

They won't waste their time testing you for steroids. As if, next thing you know they'll strap a lie detecting test to ya.*L*

No. You will not be tested for gear. I just had my procedure done (6/1)and it was all good. Surgeons just want to do their job & get paid; they dont want to police nor will theybite the hand that feeds them.

i disagree, i think they will do a hormone test. If it is natural they want to find out what is causing it. Is it high progesterone? High estrogen? Low Test?

I got mine done a few months ago, my surgeon beleived it was natural, but he said they always test prior to surgery

Since we're on the subject...

I have some gyno that really annoys me. I am so fed up with feeling my nipples every day to see if any more mass has formed overnight.

A friend of mine had an operation done and told me the rule to getting it paid for by your insurance company is to complain that it hurts.
Otherwise you'll dish 5,000 bucks out of your own pocket.

Can anybody confirm this for me? I'd like to get it done, but I'm a poor bastard.

P.S. How far along has this surgery come? I mean is it still displeasing to the eye afterwards? Bad scars, skin deformation?

i had gyno surgery last year and it was covered by my insurence.i have no scars whatsoever.you can not tell i even had surgery

It's an in and out surgery..I had a choice to be put out or have the local anesthetic, it's a simple surgery which you shouldn't even stress over. They put the scar on the nipple so it's impossible for anyone to tell you've had the operation.
One thing I noticed though is that it takes the curvature so to speak out of your nipple and you're left with a slight pot hole.

I had mine done twice. Once in like '94 and once in '97. I'm very susceptible. They didnt test either time. The first doc left some in and it grew back. The second doc got it all out or at least I thought...but now I'm not sure as its starting to come back. And Im not on anything now, and haven't been for a while.

Looks like more surgery for me down the road. Oh, and I hate to bring up a horror story, but the second time I had some complications. Major swelling. Basically blood built up around there.
I went to the doc, he said "keep a heating pad on it as much as you can." Well, I did and one night I woke up with blood all over me and the bed and the heating pad etc. Went in to doc next day and he poked a hole in my tit (it looked like a tit it was so swollen), and squeezed out this stuff that looked like grape jelly (old coagulated blood).
By the way, I have scars. First doc cut right along base of nipple (areola) and just out about ¼ inch onto my chest. Second doc cut around my nipple (looks like a line drawn around it), left only a little over ½ inch where he didn't cut. He said he didn't want to risk my nipple not healing properly and having to basically be nippleless. I thanked him for that. Maybe I've had some quack doctors. I'm sure the first one was, but maybe now I'm thinking the second was too.
Anybody else have scars from that surgery?

Oh, forgot...its outpatient. They put me all the way under...I like it that way. And the second time I had hernia surgery done at the same time, and there was this hottie nurse...

The only tests they did do was a biopsy afterwards on the tissue they removed. They do that just to be sure its not cancerous.

Why dont you go to a surgeon that is there specifically for these type of surgeries, your insurance will cover it and they wont question you either, there is usually a list at the back of all muscle mags. Or got to a sport therapist and ask him whose BBuilder friendy in your city, trust me there out there.

Still Swollen....

I Just had my right side done last Thursday night. Before I went to the doctor that removed the gyno, my general practioner did test my prolactin levels to make certain there was not a tumor on the pituitary gland (there wasn't and the gyno surgeon called him an idiot).

To get it covered, I told them that it hurt all the time and that a couple of times there was bloody discharge. The minute the surgeon heard discharge, he paused and said "this must be removed ASAP".

Even with the swelling the scar is tiny and is around the nipple, but it does hurt like a mofo (even with pain killers).
