I know this probably dont go here but, Shit are there any gyms around lately that when you walk in they dont see a fucking EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) hovering above your head. I mean i havnt seen a gym that dont want less then 50 bucks a month. What is with this i want to go to a gym that has the old school DB's and dont care if you drop a weight on the floor. Also i where the fucking old guys sit on a machine (i only use them when needed by the way) the whole time just sitting there. oh and the social butterfly i want to cram a weight down these dude throats, you know that ones who go to bs with everyone and dont even workout hello you pay to come here now hit the fucking weights. And the gyms that wont play the radio loud because the older people dont like it. Sorry i just had to vent a little bit. Your thoughts anyone......Wrong board i know but i figured it be better in here.

i'm paying 9 bucks a month bro! course i made a deal with them, and got 10 people to join which i get a certain percentage taken off for every person i refer. i think i only have to get 5 more people to join before i can go for free for the rest of my life.

You can get some good deals on some rec center / communtiy type facilities. Usually less maintained - no showers, smell like old lady ass but cheap. I pay only $120 for 6 months and I get a key so I can go anytime - when no one else goes. 2 blocks down the road there's a "new" gym and they want $60 a month so some kid can tell you to stop sweating on the machines so much.

Golds wasn't bad @ $60/mo, too many socialites there tho, and they still takin money from my account a year after cancellation...fucking assholes! Gonna have to take legal action. Now I gotta pay $96/mo, but conveniently right across the street.

Wow 96 beanage a month thats a lot! I hope you get a shake bar at least included. My favourite gym was out in BC called the "Garage" 24 coinage a month, shake bar, grill...and when it was nice outside they open up the bay doors so you can look at the pretty scenery! Plus they had those 250lb DB's for all those serious steves.

i only pay 10 quid a month, its got everything u need. no mupets,posers or dossers in there either. the 1 and only problem is the cable crossover machine. 1 of the cables is always broke. its always getting fixed 2 like but its the same side all the time.

cant really complain cause of the cheap the monthly fee is!

My last gym was hardcore. $20 a month and the owner didn't care how you paid. Heavy metal blasting on the stereo. Serious lifters.

Now that we moved I'm stuck with Gold's Gym. There is literally nothing else around for a good distance. Its like you describe. The parking lot will be jammed but there is no one in the weights area. But the 400 treadmills they have will all be full. I can't even find anyone who I trust to spot me.

They had a special since they just opened. I had to pay $100 up front and now $39 a month. but after one year it goes up to something like $50 I think.

I've never seen so many treadmills, stairsteppers, and bikes in my life. Truly impressive

I'm with you bro. I hate those big commercial gyms thats are virtually a ymca. I workout in a small (like 900 sqr ft) gym. Its all new equipment and a 24/hr facility so theres never really a 5oclock rush or anything. They've got everything I need as far as free weights, cables, and machines. My only bitch: They use rubberized dumbells. I dont mind metalflake in my mouth from incline DB press . They also only go up to 100lbs, which sucks. I'm about to buy 110lbers myself and leave them there heh.

All for $25 a month. Whos yer daddy?

The garage is perfect... or the basement if your ceiling is high enough.

Though I do got a membership at one of those plush big places with clean showers & toilets. I pay $45 for the 2 of us. It is convenient as it is down the street from work and I go on my lunches. Plus I like some dumbell work and those fuckers are expensive. Even when u can find a deal u pay more in shipping. I am waiting for the next gym in town to close up so I can get theirs.

Though I got the dungeon in my basement I use it for my "extra" work, if I don't think I had a great workout or if I am concentrating on week points.

I have my Rottweiler hand me my plates....lol.

My town has 4 Gold's gyms. Of the 2 I go to, one is a social after work chat club where people actually look at you weird if you have muscles and the other one is near the college so its just frat boys doin curls.

I live in a med-small town. I pay 27.50 a month. The gym I go to is a 24hr one where they give u an electronic key to get in. They only give memberships to people 21 or older so, I really dont see much of the fucktards. It has everything I need in it too.. A bunch of cool people too, I think there are like 200 people altogether and I havent had a complaint yet of the loud ass music we play. I like my gym, its no golds by far but it gets the job done.

I have an ipod and i mind my own business. Its just irritates me to see people sitting in the gym bullshitting and not working out. Like i said your here hit the fucking weights and get done. I ignore mostly everyone except for a few peeps i like to talk to here and there..

I'm willing to bet that I'll get done with a $25 membership far more than you'll get done at your $180 membership. Thats another $150 to go to diet! I'm not there to have the bitches eye me. Or walk around wiping my sweat off the machines so rich-boy can use them without fear of yuckiness.

Perhaps you're just being overcharged? Or perhaps have too much money than sense? Or ever perhaps that money isn't an issue? Its likely that you just live in a place where fluctuation and cost of living is outrageous. Like Cali.

Either way...i dont see how anyone in their right mind could justify spending that much money just to go to a gym.

Unfortuantly this call is made for my by my common sense and bank accnt. I still wouldn't spend that kinda $$ for a gym membership, even though i can afford it.

Oh and for $180 a month...i better be getting a happy ending at the end of each workout.

Wow Khemix I agree with you 100% there is no way i would pay that much money to fucking work out eat month. Ill spend the 150 on some more steaks and chicken breast Thank you. I just moved gyms (Gold's gym by me shut down) and I negotiated my way down to a 0$ (Zero) dollars down and $29.99 plan on a pay-as-you-go basis. But this is shitty LA Fitness, so it's prolly nothing to brag about...
