Guys- would you have chicks for roommates?

A girl I know just talked to me about the prospect of rooming with her and another girl I know in a couple of months. I wouldn't mind a change of scenery, and I'm pretty sure my rent would be cheaper too. Also, I know I wouldn't be the one cleaning up after everyone else like I have been the past year.

I've never had chicks as roommates. I could see the pros and cons. Both of these girls are hot as hell. Honestly and for real- they are fine. But that actually could make things a bit strange, I think.

On the other hand, the place would always smell nice. I take it as a compliment that they'd ask me, but on the other hand, I'm not sure if it's good that I come off as that nice.

Anybody ever had experience with this? Whatcha think?

I had two chicks for roommates during college in orlando and it was cool. The funny thing was they were the slobs not me. IN the end i hooked up with both of them ---- just dont get attached otherwise it will turn into a nightmare. It's been my experience that roommates in and of themselves are inheretly evil. Male or female or even a male...who thinks his gf should stay over all the damn time and not even contribute to the household chores. Unless of course she stays up all night because she did speed and she can't sleep, but decides that 2:00 A.M. is a good time to vacuum. The only good part about that was she finished vacuuming and moved on to the laundry. I, thinking on my toes as I do, threw my laundry in with my roommates. Thus, laundry done. Beware though...if you're friend with these girls...It's been my experience with roommates as a whole (or maybe I just had dickheads as roommates) that it's a good way to break a friendship. So..take that with a grain of salt. Not speaking the gospel here, just my two cents.

I'm in the same situation as you Cas. I have two very attractive girls (friends) that are moving back to this area after graduation. They may need a place to stay for a while, so I suggested them staying with me since I live alone in a fairly large house. They liked the idea.

On one hand it seems ideal for some of the resons mentioned by others, but on the other hand it could easily become a pain in the ass.

It's risky, and the last thing I'd want is for tensions to arise in the friendship(s).

Seriously though - THE most important thing when choosing a roommate is will they pay their way. This includes not just rent and utilities, but arrangements for the phone, if there is one, tv rental etc. Find out what they're like from their current roommates. A non-paying roommate is a PITA regardless of whether or not they are hot chicks.

Point two, it is difficult to live with folks whose idea of hygeine and cleanliness of the public areas in an appartment are different from yours. This includes both living with folks who are slobbier and much cleaner. In the first case they will drive you nuts and you will end up doing all the cleaning, in the second they will hound you to clean up constantly when you don't think it necessary. Again, ask to see their current appartments (eg come round to theirs to discuss the lease) and judge for yourself.

Find out if either has a "live in" unofficially. You may find that a roommate has their "other half" around so much you may as well be living with them too. This is important if you don't get on with the "other half", if the partner is an obnoxious prick or criminal, if said partner objects to roommates of the opposite sex, or if the appartment is already small for the three of you and four hanging around is a crowd.

Discuss food and food sharing arrangements.

Do not fuck your roommates if there is a chance they will use this to mess with the financial arrangements (getting someone you are dating to cough up their share of the rent is tricky).
