How seriously do you take your sport of interest? Is it just next day conversation with your buddies or is it tell your spouse or significant other to get lost for the day so you can watch the game and then if the team loses you will be a major ass the rest of the day?

i love sports.

its a huge part of my life.

my teams and their success actually affect my mood and happiness on a daily basis.

growing up in the northeast its part of the culture

i wont be an ass but i will be disappointed. my wife knows that sundays are pretty much off limits during football season along with monday nights. but all i request is football season so the rest of the year it goes back to normal and i compromise for the stuff she likes.

I get very emotional when watching my teams play, but I've never been upset or elated for more than like half an hour after the game was over.

Most emotional fans i know personally are eagles fans, I watched a bunch of them cry like bitches when they lost the SB.

I play 3x week softball, sand and indoor volleyball 2x week in the spring/summer

Frisbee Golf now this spring, it's contact..

wife made me give up rugby and full contact football.. i'm 47 now..

yea, it's important..

Life is a not a spectator sport,
If they will let me play, cool.
If not.......I got better things to do than sit around and watch op play.

Very imporatnt if you are a guy and they are not then your a big vagina

I've coached my son in baseball for 5 years now, that would be 9 seasons as we play select ball in the fall now. On that level I'm as "into" it as they come. We spend hours practicing, and at different coaches.

Professional sports, meh, I like to watch the Stars, but it's not that important.

BTW, we just had a tournament and came in second. We had to play out of the losers bracket and lost in the championship game. We had played 4 back-to-back games before the final. I was really proud of them as they were totally out of gas when the game started, but we still played...

After working for a sports network for years, I got burnt out on sports. Now I can't even turn on a sports game. Hence my love for music and film now. :)

It's funny - the average sports fan could sure use some sports activities themselves.

I love sports............i love to play and watch. But if my team loses I get over it as soon as i get up from the couch.........i dont take it out on other people........i think some fans care more than the athletes themselves............these athletes get paid millions of dollars so im not going to put too much energy or emotion if they lose or wim. Dont get me wrong, during the games im right there hoping they win and am fully into it.....i dont want to be distracted when im watching football....but right after the game im out and about doing my thing

i support teams...the knicks, the yankees, the giants...but it's mostly theoretical. once in a while, i'll get into a game. i was yelling like a fool during the superbowl (or the end...the rest of it, i slept through). other than that, i pay very little attention to sports...i have no idea what's going on.

Important enough to KNOW THE TITANS ARE GOING TO GO 12-4 this SEASON. I would say sports are about 49% of why I stay alive.

I'm indifferent to sports just watching it (usually just rugby union and Italian football / watching Juventus). Much prefer to play it.

it's much harder when your sports teams are terrible.

the knicks, the mets, the jets, islanders...even my precious Canes are fuckin pathetic

fuck i need to kill myself

Sports are a HUGE part of my life, both playing and as a fan. As a fan - Only people I REALLY like get to watch certain games with me and I have specific rules about how soon after a loss one is allowed to bring it up. If there is a huge loss for one of my teams, friends and loved ones know it's best to let me be alone till I work it out.

As far as playing, I am insanely competitive. I play in a coed flag football and coed kickball league currently and soon softball is starting up. I play tennis in the summer probably once every couple of weeks.

I wish I still had it...but back when I was in college and used AIM religiously, I had a standard gameday away message with all my rules....things like, "Do not ever bring up vinny testeverde. Ever." and "If we lose, and you send me an "I'm sorry" message, we are no longer friends." and "Please spare me comments about our defense. I know. It sucks. Fuck you."

I was kinda bitter that year.

stfu toothy mcteethy

I have known my husband nearly 2 years. We went to the rodeo... ONCE.

Neither one of us really cares about such.

When we get our kids though, we will be at EVERY SINGLE event, regardless of how much our kids suck... hehhehehe

Neither one of us really cares about pro sports but when it comes to friends and family we are 100% supportive.

As I get older I value watching my kids play much more than watching the pros.

That being said, you don't want to come between me and the TV on Super Bowl Sunday.

If the spouse doesn't know to stfu and leave me alone during the game, yeah....I'd be telling her to get lost. And you bet I'll be in a foul mood the rest of the day when my team loses; I'm grieving for God's sake...gimme some space!!!
