Good news and bad news. Need some advice.

Hi bros. Been a little while since I've been on here as I'm currently on holiday in the US. Spent a few days in Vegas, loved it. Won about $800. Then we flew to California and I proposed to my girlfriend, we're now engaged. Loving life! UNTIL a couple of guys thought it would be a good idea to try and mug my new fiancee. I was just getting cash out from an ATM and turned round as I heard her shout for me. So I ran up to them, one ran off but the other pulled out a knife and I got stabbed in the leg. Shook it off and managed to pin him down until the police came but I've got some serious damage to my quad. On crutches for 8 weeks and I'm a few weeks into a cycle. I don't really know what to do, should I just end the cycle and start PCT or carry on and just do what I can until the 12 weeks are up?

Part of me just wants to carry on but then I know that all I'm going to be able to do is bench and machines. Which is annoying as my workouts are based around deadlifts, squats and free weights. Absolute nightmare but I'm not going to let it get to me; I've just got engaged so that's the priority right now, telling family, friends and getting stuff organised etc... Might be best to put the gym off for a few months.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Hope you guys are all doing well.

Wow, seems like the world is against you finishing your cycle. Congrats on the engagement and for catching one of the assholes. If I were in your situation is probably put off the gym. You've got a lot of shit on your plate right now to begin with on top of a handicap that could hurt your performance in the weight room.

Although you don't have to give up hope with the weight room, I've seen many guys in wheelchairs get pretty huge.

Btw how did u end up gettin your gear into the states?

Thanks mate. Yeah a good friend of mine lost a leg in Iraq a few years ago and he is ripped to shreds. So it can definitely be done.

A friend in the UK gave me some stuff that is legal in the US. He said it'd keep me going and so far I don't see any real problems. Put it in the suitcase in my socks just to be safe and there were no problems. I get back in a few days as we decided to cut the trip short as I can't really do too much. Not ideal but I've got all my stuff waiting for me at home. I'd just have to order my PCT.

How extensive was the damage bro? Same thing happened to me 3 years ago. Got into a squabble and was stabbed in the quad right above the knee about 2-3" deep while rolling around on the ground with the guy trying to remove the knife. Missed my tendons/ligaments. I was fully recovered in 2-3 weeks so maybe your doctor gave you an inaccurate time frame

Just dump the whole cycle and call it a loss. Go into PCT just to be safe. Start over when youre all healed and ready to train 100%

It missed my tendons and ligaments but went about 4" in, missed the bone by a about half an inch so I'm lucky. But from what the doctor was saying it's torn a lot of the muscle and he said 8-10 weeks. From experience with injury they usually add a few more weeks to cover themselves but you never know. I'll probably just leave it all and just do my PCT.

On the plus side, the piece of shit that did it had committed several other offences and now he's looking at spending some serious time in prison. Plus it was on CCTV and the guy that ran away (who was on parole) got caught the next day.

Shame really! I was enjoying my time in America up until then!

Sorry to hear your experience here was so shitty. You'll be back on the gain train before you know it

I'm sure you have heard the term "when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade" right? I was in a similar situation back in June when I had a very bad hand injury at work lacerating it and the extensor tendon to my thumb. I was 3 weeks into a Test/Tren/Masteron cycle and it was just starting to really kick in. I had surgery to repair the tendon, was in an arm splint with no use of it, the doctor told me I had about 10 weeks of recovery ahead of me, and I spent the next week out of the gym wondering what to do.

I contemplated abandoning the cycle, but decided to stay on and just do everything I could do, instead of dwelling on what I couldn't do. I came up with an upper body and lower body split that would work well. I did pec deck, machine lateral raises, modified ab-sling weighted pull-ups and used a wrist cuff for resistance on cable curls and tricep extensions. It was all i could come up with not having to use my right hand. Lower body was pretty much unaffected for the most part, other than not doing squats since I couldn't stabilize the bar with my right hand since it was splinted.

I'm at the end of that cycle right now, and only have a couple weeks left of restriction before I can go back to my big lifts again. Since the injury I have gained 8 lbs, a ton of strength, and lowered my bodyfat by 2%. I'm very glad I didn't decide to just give up. I pushed through and did what I could.

I hope that gives you something to thnk about.

Lol at shrugged it off. I bet that shyt hurt like a fucking bitch. Could have been worse. Lucky for you they weren't in a California gang. You'd probably be dead cuz they'd have guns. Gotta watch yourself man lol. I'm telling you you got realllllllll lucky
