Are you getting nervous? Are you stressed? Are you ready? I can't wait to see pictures of your beautiful day! Are you working for the rest of the week? I was a total basketcase 2-3 days before the wedding. I was at work then but fairly worthless. :)

Have a great wedding DG!! Congrats!!

*sniffle* weddings make me weepy!

Nope, been off work for almost a week and a half. I teach at a year-round school, so I don't get a traditional "summer break". We get our 11 weeks off (paid) spread out over the school year in chunks. My first break was Oct 9-Nov 1. But of course I spent all last week in my classroom doing work, planning, etc.

I was TOTALLY not nervous until 2-3 days ago. Now I am a wreak. I am not sleeping, nauseated, stressed, butterflies, etc. Not about the wedding/marriage, but I guess about the step I'm taking.

But Xanax helps so much. :)

Things are kinda sucky for me right now though.... For two reasons.....

First, I got bloodwork back from my doc yesterday and my Thryoid is malfunctioning. I had to be referred to a specialist to do further investigating. It is likely I will have to be medicated for the rest of my life. Plus, if I don't get it under control, a full-term pregnancy is unlikely. The risk of miscarriage dramatically rises, plus there could be effects to the fetus (on mental function and IQ). The doc was NOT concerned, said it was no big deal, but that I cannot try to conceive until things are stabilized. It could stabilize with meds quickly or may take longer, they don't know. I have an appt with the Internal Medicine doc tomorrow. So we'll see.

THEN, get this, I went for my final fitting yesterday, and my dress DIDN'T FIT. I am so bloated/retaining water from PMS! It was a good 1/2 inch too small around my abs/ribcage/chest. It zips, but BARELY and is VERY VERY uncomfortable. So I have eliminated salt and am trying to dehydrate myself.

*sigh* But all in all, I am so so so so so happy to be getting married in THREE DAYS! :) I am thrilled about it! :)

Ahh Daisy I can't wait to see the pictures!!! I bet you will be a beautiful bride!!!

Hope you can get allthe water out of your system!!

Mandie

Best of luck! I can't wait to see your photos :D!

Try not to worry about the Thyroid stuff until after the wedding... you have more than enough on your mind right now.

Don't freak yet about the thyroid - I had gotten similiar news (less the pregnancy part) from the doctor like a year or so ago and after numerous tests and doctors I never had to be medicated. The only large change in my life has been change in food/diet.

Think postive and if can't for yourself do it for us.

Good Luck sweets.

:rose: :)

Wedding is this Saturday. :)

As far as Thyroid, I am trying not to worry. But of course, I find out last night, both my father and paternal grandmother are dealing with the same thing. So it is genetic.....I have the EXACT same makeup as my dad and his mother. This would have been GREAT knowledge to have BEFORE. Whatever. :) Damn parents. lol

Thank you for the thoughts though. :)

My family gets in town tonight...I am so so excited! It is the first time my little neice has been on an airplane (she is 3 yo) and my nephew is only 3 mos. OMG, I can't wait! :)

Sorry to hear about the thyroid.....not to compare you to my cat, but Lindsay is Hyper-thyroid & I've had her on meds for a while. Monday she goes for a radio-iodine treatment. Sounds very simple, I hope that will turn out to be an easy solution for you......try not to worry about it & have a great wedding!!

Oh, and post pics as soon as you can....

I'm sorry about your thyroid-- try not to let it stress you out too much (easier said than done).

I'm so excited for you Daisy! I was also cool and collected until 2-3 days before when I started to feel like a total basketcase. I delegated out a lot of tasks to my family. They were happy to help and it gave me more down time. Deep breath! There are always glitches but by the end of the night you'll just laugh about them as part of your story.

ONE DAY CLOSER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Approach your day like the guys do -- let everyone else sweat the details. All you have to do is show up & be beautiful!

Well, we did it. :) Everything was wonderful, so very very wonderful.

The days before (Weds-Fri) were crazy, with various family coming in, balancing everything and everyone. But it was so great to have ONLY family there. We had 4 generations gathered together. It was amazing.

Things went smoothly, overall. I am writing a letter to the Ritz Carlton though. We had our Ceremony and Reception there, paid a TON of money (esp considering our small number of people) but were VERY disappointed with the level of service. Everything went off well, no major complaints, but if you know anything about the Ritz Carlton, you know they PRIDE themselves on SUPERIOR customer service. They are supposed to be the "gold standard". Like I said, nothing major, just a total lack of communication between the people there. So I had to deal with several things that I shouldn't have. But no biggie. :)

I cried several times during the day, everyone did. Even my big strong honey - who said he would not cry during the ceremony - CRIED. :) And the days before, he was a nervous wreak. I was actually quite calm, until about 20 min before the ceremony started. My Dad was pacing around too, freaking out. :) Everyone said I was the most laid-back bride they ever saw! I cried before Dad and I went down - he just hugged me and I fell apart. It didn't help that he kept telling me how proud my mom would be of me (she died when I was in HS).

The ceremony went VERY fast, I barely remember it. When I came down the aisle, I had tears in my eyes, so did my honey. I just remember my 3 y.o. niece playing the in the sand on the beach, which kept making me laugh - which helped me NOT cry! Then I would look at my honey and we just would smile at each other. Just about everyone cried.....I remember looking out at everyone and seeing tears in their eyes. That almost threw me in to a crying fit, but I stopped myself. :)

The reception was great, very elegant. My niece kept crawling under my dress - it was so funny! We got a great shot of her laying under my dress, I am lifting it up and looking down, her head was between my feet. Then she started going around trying to do it to other females.....but kept coming back to me since my dress was so "fluffy". She was quite the entertainment. :) AND she made it until the end to take HER dress off! It was a record! VERY funny to see a 3 yo in panties running around this elegant reception! :) His family was shocked, but mine is used to it. lol

It was so special, so awesome. We are silly happy. My honey was on the phone this morning and said "you just talked to my wife..." I got all butterfly-like inside, it was so cool. :)

We leave tomorrow for our short "getaway". We are going to Pismo Beach (in CA). It is supposed to rain, but whatever. We get a private balcony jacuzzi, that will be cool.

Sorry I've been so out of contact, I won't be back again until Thursday. Thank you SO SO SO muchfor the nice thoughts. That is very special to me, very sweet. I appreciate the well-wishes very much.

hugs and kisses,
MRS. Daisy

Daisy congrats things sounded so sweet and romantic. When are you guys going on your honeymoon and where?

I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes now. LOL

Glad everyone had a wonderful time. Congradulations!

Good luck and keep us posted on the thyroid issue.

Daisy, it sounds like your wedding was wonderful! It is so heartwarming to hear how in love the two of you are and how happy. I wish you all the best  .

Now go on your short getaway and have hot newlywed sex ;) .

Wish I had pics already...... :) Hopefully this time next week the professional pics will be here. :)

Our short getaway was great. The weather was rainy one day, which was great because we had a big featherbed and an in-room fireplace. Very romantic. :)

Spent a day walking on the beach (the next day was sunny).

Just got to spend time together, which was awesome. But we are glad to be home, and ready to go back to "normal" routine.

Everyone always says that weddings fly by but I never realized how true it is. It was perfect for me despite the flaws...they're just part of the tale.

But I'm glad it's over too. Isn't it nice to not be on the phone every 5 minutes fretting about something? My phone was ringing off the hook 2-3 days before. Now it's silent. Ahhhh.

Do you get your pro pictures back in 4-6 weeks? Aren't you excited? I'm so happy for you!!

OMG, I have basically NO recollection of a lot of the night. It all blurred together. There are several things I wish I had done differently, mostly, just SLOW DOWN. I practically RAN down the aisle, and just felt rushed the whole day. As laid back as I was, I just wish I would have taken more time to CHILL.

Ah Raina, you got it right..... I love not havign to stress about the details anymore. No more phone calls. I love it!

With the Photog I got, I get about 180-200 actual prints, then ALL the photos he took (prob 500+) on a CD. So I can reprint or email them myself WITHOUT it costing extra. :) He chooses the ones to print himself, but I get to see all the pics he chose not to print - there prob will be some funny ones there. The CD was a BIG motivating factor. I get to see the WHOLE day.
