i haven't done decline dumbbell press in years... should i be able to to more or less or the same weight as flat bench dumbbell press?

i think i've heard somewhere that you should be able to lift more weight doing decline compared to flat.

Well, I generally do decline after I do bench and incline, but I use generally the same weight I did on bench....unless I REALLY smoke my chest, then I'll drop down like 10lbs less than bench. Make sure you use a lighter weight and warm-up, to get the motion back down, you'll be able to feel how much you can go with usually.

It's unlikely you'll be able match your normal flat bench weight on incline, seeing as it's been so long. Like BB said, start out low and let your body adapt a little. Then go from there.

LOL! At all costs, you must protect the johnson. May be time to switch up to decline bench when this becomes an issue. :D

Naw. I kinda like feeling 150 pounds of cold steel between my legs.

........

haha. I'll let y'all run with that one.
