I thought hyperthyroidism was characterized by insulin resistance = obesity, not the other way around. Did I mistake it with something else? I haven't been diagnosed with a thyroid issue yet, but my fam thinks something's there according to symptoms. Oh well...

I knew it. Hey CC, I remember when I was still on my weight loss cycle at the end of the summer, I basically stopped doing cardio/weights for a crapload of time (months), doing it extremely rarely at low-moderate pace since I couldn't push more, and continued to DRASTICALLY lose weight for those months ahead. I think you've got to cut down on the training a bit as well :/ It might help. I also read you lost your period meaning you've definitely cut down to a bf level too low to support your menstrual cycle. You've definitely got to cut down on training.

NO offense but you are REALLY off base here.....

In fact.....Im not sure those recommendations are even on the playing field.

She has an overactive (HYPER) thyriod...it has NOTHING to do with weight training....at all.

Hyperthyroidism, especially when it's severe or has gone untreated for a long time, causes wasting of muscle tissue, and this muscle is rebuilt when thyroid levels are normalized.

^^^^so it seems to me that protection of her current LBM is imperative....

How does one protect LBM??

TRAINING

So you are suggesting that she STOPS the ONE thing that will preserve her lean body mass.

...does that really make sense?
