GlucorellR {R+ ALA} and First PWO Meal

R-ALA and First PWO Meal

OK, my understanding is that in additon to all of the othher benefits of R-ALA, that it actually helps to supress the insulin response.

Ok, now if this is true, do we maybe NOT want to use R-ALA with the first post-workout meal?

Usually we use that meal wisely by taking advantage of the insulin response to shuttle glucose (?) back into the muscles and help with recovery. Even while cutting, this can be done effectively with no real spillover of glucose into fat stores.

And then most guys may do a second post-workout meal like 90 minutes later, and in that meal we shoudl probably use R-ALA (to be sure of no spillover).

But, given all of this, does it make sense to be slamming R-ALA with that first, immediately-after--a-workout, meal?

Good question.

The way I understand it is that the r-ALA will actualy do a better job of shuttling the glucose into the muscles right after training then an insulin spike would, and with potentialy less spill over too.

I've been wondering about this for quite some time though.

You should not take more post workout for your shake. But you should shortly thereafter with you post workout MEAL.

"More" ....... that word just confused me.

OK, lets get basic here and explain. You may be assuming something or maybe we are not commuincating so let me break this WAY down.

OK - I walk into a gym.

I have not eaten a meal for a good 2 hours probably.

If I have eaten anything right before a workout its like an apple, or just a very small drink with some carbs. I DO NOT TAKEN ANY ALA AT THIS TIME.

I workout.

RIGHT AFTER I AM DONE I have a PWO shake with carbs and protein.

Like 90 minutes later I have a PWO meal with carbs and protein.

OK - thats the deal. Saying the workd "more" implies I have SOME already in me, and I dont. Since I dont eat a bunch of carbs prior to my workout, and since I dont want to almost pass out from low blood sugar while working out, then taking any R-ALA before or during a workout is not in the plan.

OK, so, again, my question....

we have 2 meals....

RIGHT AFTER I AM DONE I have a PWO shake with carbs and protein.

Like 90 minutes later I have a PWO meal with carbs and protein.

I have trouble seeing taking R-ALA with the first, but definately in the second.

Am I right?

Nope you take 3 Glucorell R

I workout.

Yes while you drink a carb drink like gatorade

RIGHT AFTER I AM DONE I have a PWO shake with carbs and protein.

OK

Now take 2 more Glucorell R

r-ala helps to shuttle glucose into the muscles, so i dont see why not take it with every carb containing meal

I see your point but I wish you would see how I can use this within my current plan instead of changing my plan.

If I take ala before a workout, then I am light-headed and hypo glycemic.

Drink gatorade while working out? Does not work for me that well. I am working to cut fat right now, so I time carbs and all very carefully.

I have never had good luck working out with anything but water in my stomach.

I am also curious about the benefit of R-ALA before a workout!!

I bring into the gym a cooler containing 1 post workout beverage that contains

1 Myoplex, 1 scoop whey protien isolate, 1/4 c. dextrose, 15g. creatine.

Totals:
Protien 65g
Carbs 65g
Fat 2g

I usually take 1500mg Ginger Root, 3 R-ALA with Biotin, and a Mulitvitamin 15 min before consuming the above shake.

Then an hour later I usually eat a meal that contains about the same ratios.

Thanks for any input.
