Negative feedback is not going to motivate her... it will diminish what self esteem she has. You may think she is comfortable at her weight... but maybe she's consciously aware of it but doesn't quite know how to address it. The best thing for you to do it to guide her into the right direction and let her decide if she likes it. I am very pro "female classes" for girls who have no interest in being in the gym... yoga, pilates, kickboxing. Join a gym with her... check out the classes.... go when there is one... she spends an hour in spinning... you go work out.
But at the end of the day... if you can't get past her looks then let her move on to find someone who loves a bit extra on her bones.
