I read that series years ago. Probably stopped after the 5-6th book.

It was pretty good if you're into neckbeard fantasy novels for situations where you can't bust-out the Dungeons & Dragons set.

I love neckbeard fantasy stuff.

But it's done very well in typical HBO style. Even nonneckbearders can appreciate this show

boardwalk empire is awesome no doubt...but this show seems a lil slow to be honest..ill keep watching it so hopefully gets a bit more exciting

I really had high hopes for Game of Thrones and I'm giving it a shot but for the production quality (it's beautiful) I'm disappointed so far (I never read the books). It's draggy, the story needs to pick up. It's like they're so proud of how great it looks they don't want to clutter up the scenery with dialogue

On the other hand I thought Starz doing Camelot was stupid and boy was I wrong there. Excellent so far, really enjoyable.

i don't find it draggy at all. i think the whole thing between the starks and the lannisters is pretty enthralling. plot twists like the incest thing between them, throwing the boy off etc then trying to kill him again. that's pretty crazy

besides, almost all shows start off with character development. it's only the third episode.
