You can lose weight with any given diet.
You should never look weight loss as a some sort of short term fix it should be a change of habits and lifestyle otherwise you are back to square one before you know.
Eating less works. Always has. I've half an idea you'd lose weight then gain it back by going back to eating the same amount of crap you did when you were too heavy.
you might get some nice benefits out of it actually since you will be consuming mostly water and fiber for all 10 days. don't forget cucumbers and avocado's are fruits too
