For those of you who do contests and shows

I kept my carbs around 100 grams a day up until about a week out. The guy that was getting ready with me carbed up every 4th day. He kept his carbs at around 100 for 3 days then on the 4th, he'd get around 250. We were just kind of stumbling our way through because him and I are both new to competing. It is pretty common though to carb back up every 3rd or 4th day. The number of carbs to bring in, I'm not sure about. I guess that would depend on how big you are and how much fat you have to lose.
 
i carbed up when i was getting ready for my last show. i would start looking for info supporting it because i wanted to, more so than i thought it would help me. i didn't look as good on contest day as i would have liked to. i think i personally over did it a bit. i don't think it's a bad thing, just don't rationalize yourself into doing too much, too often.
