I'm trying to cut up currently and wan o maintain mass.I was going to c what people thought about on leg days to just do 10 sets of squats for a while. Today I did 3 lighter sets to get really warm then 5 sets of 10 then 2 fast sets of 15 bout 30 seconds rest in between the last 2. 1 minute rest on the 5 heavier sets and first 3. Then 10 sets of calve raises 15- 20 reps 30 second rest also I did 3 sets weighted step ups with a clave raise at the top one leg at a time no rest just one leg then the other. I did my abs after this 12 sets 4 exercises. Is this dumb or should I stick with it? Felt like doing it today also didn't feel like moving to another crap because I know squats work also on the 5 heavy sets one set I did a box squat 2 sets were a little narrower stance to target more quads.
 
I like the 10 sets of squats, but Id also do some hamstring work. Not a fan of the step ups unless your a female. They are more of a toning exercise, and toning isnt for men. Men build muscle, and strength or get shredded. If calves are a weak area of yours Id do them atleast 3xs a week.

Ok i do my step ups with a book bag and 3 plates in it I workout at home. i do own leg press u think I should just add 5 or 10 more sets of leg press . and some stiff leg deads for the hams or leg curls don't know why I picked step ups just wasnt that enthused about same old sh*t today. just want a solid leg program that's a little different from my old routine was 4 sets squats 4 stiff leg deads 4 calve raise( calves rnt weak I just do them on leg day,it matches) 4 front squat 3 leg extensions 3leg curl usually drop sets on one or more of these or should I just stay the old way. my legs have mass that I'm happy with just wanting the cut in them same as abs I guess it's going to take Lowe bf to get it. I was thinking squats make mass why not do them mostly to hold on them to cut or just do 10 sets of squats every once an a while added to my usual stuff
 
If your looking to maintain mass and increase quality and definition Inwould do squats, leg press, stiff legs or good mornings, followed by lunges, ham curls, and calves. So basically.
Squat 4x 5-10 heavy, 3x 20-30 moderate
Leg press 3x 20-50
Stiff legs or gm 4x20
Lunges 3x 25
Ham curls 3x50
Calves 4x failure
Abs every training session.
