IMO it depends on your nutrition, how much and of what you're eating. I'm 233, i take anywhere from 1 Tablespoon a day to 4 a day. It depends on what i'm eating, and the amount of fat in the meal i consume. If i have a shake in the morning and no fat, i'll definately take it. But if i have a big steak i wont, there's plenty of fat to go around w/ the steak. So i basically use it w/ meals w/ little or no fat content. So i say take as needed, but more than 4 Tbs./day i don't think you'll need.
Also there are other good fats you can use as well. Again depending on fat content of the meal, b/c i believe you have to have some fat w/ every meal (you just need the right kind of fat). I'll also take a Tablespoon of Olive Oil Extra Virgin, or a Tablespoon of Natural Peanut Butter. You don't have to worry about good fats like you do the bad ones. And i think all 3 are good sources of fat. I usually use all 3/day.
good luck
