First Post, First Cycle, First Contest

Hey all.. Been training for several years and reading this forum on and off for awhile now.

So, about six weeks ago--I began my first cycle. Being in my 40's--I needed some motivation. A reason if you will to take the plunge into my first cycle. So, I am going to give physique a shot. I am in week 6 of my cycle.

My girl did bikini over the summer and placed in two divisions. It got me thinking about doing something for me. Here's my stats and my cycle.

5'11" 188 pounds.
Bf 9 percent. ( 6 weeks left until show)

Weeks 1-10 test e 300mg
Weeks 7-12 Anavar 80mg
Armidex .25 mg eod

PCT is clomid and nolva
Also have Hcgenerate and DAA.


The test has kicked in... Definitely stronger and holding a little water. Starting anavar tomorrow morning. 3 doses pd 30/20/30mg

Q's:
Should I up the adex dose to combat the bloat now, or should I wait until 2 weeks prior to show to see how I look?

Is 300 test e too much for a cutting cycle? My diet is solid, and so is training and cardio. Not dropping weight yet. Weight is same. Just bigger and stronger. Could use some guidance here. Doing fasted cardio 4 days pw 30 min.

Feel free to ask me any additional questions. I really want the last six weeks to go well! Would like to be 5-6 percent on show day.

at 9 percent, you should be running masteron on this cycle... you definitely should use aromasin as opposed to arimidex for this cycle, especially if your holding water already... that's a good dose of test but you could drop it to 250 and add mast prop at 600 mg week... you will cut down nicely... i would go with winstrol over anavar to finish but thats up to you... if you just wanted to drop weight, you should not be running steroids... there is this misconception that steroids are used to lose weight, which is not the case... you should have ran sarms if that's what your after... to really get the most lean muscle out of this and to cut some, you need to hit cardio more and eat below maintenance... add masteron to your cycle... use your ai as i instructed... make sure you are using n2guard when you start your oral to protect yourself... your pct is not complete at all bro... you should run hcgenerate es on cycle to keep suppression to aminimum... for pct run this...

Thanks for the response man... My intention of the cycle was to drop bodyfat while keeping muscle. This was to be accomplished through weight training, additional cardio and a caloric deficit. Isn't this what steroids can help do?

I had heard good things about anavar and a low dose test cycle. My source also only had adex. So, I'm stuck with that. I can add more to PCT if needed....

My plan was to stop test 2 weeks prior to show and stay with anavar until show date. Also up the adex when I stop test. I don't know anyone whose done that, but I read about others doing so with success. I'm going to up my cardio as well I think.

Any other thoughts or comments?

That was not how you described things... you said to simply lose weight... when you make it sound like a fat burner like so many do, then it needs to be corrected... you need to be more specific... regardless, i advised you on what to add... defintely run anavar up to the show... if you only have arimidex then run that in pct instead of aromasin...
 
I re-read original post.... Yes, I could have been more clear. Few more Q's: During PCT is it ok to run adex alongside Nolva?

And what about upping the adex dose right before (10-14 days) contest?

I know diet is the most important thing that will determine how I look. But, it's hard to tell how much bloat I have from test e. I think I will up adex dose to .5 eod and see how I react.

Here's the thing... It's my first cycle, which is why I am only running two compounds. And, I am figuring out what each will do and won't do to my physique. Just started the anavar this morning and I'm looking forward to sharing the result.

Going into the show lean and dry is the most important. I've done a physique show myself so I'm pretty familiar with the prep for it.

Dropping test 2 weeks prior should be enough to have no issues with water retention from the test. I dont see any thing wrong with your cycle, just make sure you get lean and dry enough. I cant stress that enough. At our age skin doesn't tighten up as well as the young guys. I was the oldest in my class at 39 by 8 years, so to get that tiny waist and tight skin the judges are after I had to get under 5% which is very lean for physique

I'm also going to compete in my height class as well as I'll be near the tallest in my group. I suspect that will be a very tough class though as you indicated. As suggested going to drop test e 14 days out and possibly up the armidex (depending on how I look ) at the same time.

I didn't take any before photos, but so far, I do like the test e. It took about 5 weeks before any size came, strength a week or two before then. I'm pinning 2x per week as well. I've been on calorie deficient diet, so I'm sure the gains would be greater if I wasn't. Other than a little water and slight acne, I currently have no sides. I imagine that may change when the anavar kicks in, but unlike many who seem to ask a question and get an answer, and do not update their thread, I will update my progress

I believe HCGenerat and N2GUARD should be used on cycle. That's what they're designed for. And UNLEASHED and protein factory POST-CYCLE is the best natty PCT you can use. Personally, I think clomid and nolvadex are a waste and can make you feel like crap. Best to avoid.
 
the beauty of hcgenerate is its versaitlity... it can be utilized on cycle, in pct or as a standalone and is at the top of its class in all areas... n2guard needs to be ran on cycle and in pct... i have written extensive articles explaining as why...

Thanks for all the good info! Have Hcgenerate already. Was saving it for the last two weeks of cycle without test e (as a kickstart to PCT) and continuing through the first half of PCT. Going to check out the articles and I'm sure I'll add a few more items for support. I'm not so sure that clomid and nolva are a waste. There is a history of success behind both SERM's. My guess is that adding the proper support items along with the SERMS will likely provide a better recovery than either one would alone. I've read good things about Hcgenerate and may add another bottle along with N2guard.

I am five now weeks out. Show is Nov 16th. I still need to lean up some. Been doing low intensity fasted am cardio for 30 min eod for a little over a week. I figured out how to post a pic. Still running 300mg test e pw and 80mg anavar. I'm carb sensitive, so I dropped the carbs down to about 80-100g per day. I am down a pound from last week based or morning weight. Also started fat burners today in the morning prior to cardio.

Still running adex at .25 eod. Will up it some but probably during final week when the heavy training is over.

Suggestions and comments are welcome. Also what would you guess my bf is? I'm thinking 7 percent... I may be holding water from test. Hard to tell as this is first cycle. Pretty stoked and looking forward to competing! View attachment 114273
 
Thanks! I have been trying... This level of training and diet is all totally new to me. To be honest, I'm most nervous about peak week. I'm going to start a new thread in a couple of weeks to get some help. In the meantime, I will just keep doing what I have been doing. I'm hoping I can continue to lean up while keeping muscle. No sides from anything yet, except maybe some tingling in fingers from the anavar.

Diet for now is:

Meal

1. 1 cup oatmeal w/1/2 scoop whey
6 egg whites. 2 yolks.

2. 4 oz chicken breast ( deli meat for now) small scoop almond butter

3. 5 oz Chicken breast, 1 cup quinoa, and small scoop almond butter

4. 1/2 scoop whey 3 oz chicken breast 1/2 slice Ezekiel bread

WORKOUT

5. 1 scoop whey
2 scoops afterglow

6. Lean beef, chicken or fish 5oz
1/2 cupBrown rice or quinoa
Avocado or almond butter for fat ( unless I have beef).

7. Cassien 2 scoops. with almond butter for fat.


I'd say 275g average protein, 80-120g carb and 40-60 g fat.

I add a little carbs if I feel flat or tired or take them away if I begin to hold water or look too full. I'm somewhat sensitive to carbs so I'm careful. I also back off some on all macros on Sunday which is a rest day.

BCAA's, multiple vitamin, fish oil..etc
