First Band Workout - My Assessment

Well I recieved my bands on Friday and figured I would take them for a test run. I was pretty over trained from the week so I just wanted to take them for a test drive in my gym on Friday night.

I used them for 2 exercises. (Irish in order to illustrate I have stolen links from your website)

I did these for power, or rather as an ME exercises except I did them on the floor. Basically its a modified Dumbbell Floor Press

And also tried these for Abs

Well bands added to AB exercises accompanied with weight in my opinion should have been used as a mid -evil torture method. The bands rocked my abs,.

When used with a pressing motion, I felt most of the strain on my upper and outer bicep area. The next day this area was insanely sore, try to imagine the upper outer bicep (if such an area exists)

My question is, (we need not go into the hundreds of exercises to use bands for) my question is was this area stressed because it is rarely used, or was I using the bands incorrectly.?

All in all, I am sure the bands will take some getting used to. One things is for sure, they rock and they are the real deal. In retrospect I realize I should have purchased the bands well before other gear and training items I have purchased in the past. I think bands should be a staple tool for lifting.
