That whole thiing got blown so far out of proportion it's not even funny.
All the dude says was that he supports traditional marriage. Mitt Romney said that and nobody freaked out, and Obama in the 2008 election period said that as well and he was elected our president. HE changed his stance to try to be more popular. I guarantee that Barack is totally grossed out by homosexuals just like 98% of other straight men.
Anybody that thinks that because the guy supports traditional marriage automatically means he is a hater and a bigot are way off the path of logic and reason. I'm sure chick-fil-a has hired hundreds if not thousands of gay employees over the past decade.

Like many of my friends, I’ve known for quite some time about the fact that Chick-Fil-A donates millions of dollars of their profits to organizations such as Family Research Council, Exodus International, Focus on the Family, etc. The names of these groups sound harmless enough, but they are anything but. These are groups that not only actively try to prohibit gay marriage; they help fund groups that want to make it legal to be fired from your job for being gay, groups that want to deport gay citizens out of the country and groups that support legislature intended to legalize the execution of gay people. Harmless, indeed.

This whole thing hits home a second time for me. I'm mormon, and our church was attacked viciously after Prop 8 passed, even our ward houses and temples were vandalized. Every mormon was automatically labeled a gay-hating bigot and they started saying that the mormon church teaches you to hate gay people. On the contrary, if you know anything abour mormon doctrine, that couldn't be further from the truth. Yes, the LDS Church supports traditional marriage(The released a worldwide proclamation almost 20 years ago on this very subject.), but not one time in all my years at church or at any time in the history of the church was anyone instructed by the leaders of the church to single out a certain group of people and act hateful towards them because of a difference in race, gender or orientation.
Gays get very angry with people if you don't support their viewpoint, even if you don't say anything negative about them.
I could go on the news tonight and say "I support traditonal Marriage!" and put my e-mail address on the screen. The next day, I would wake up to 10,000's of e-mails with extremely hateful things written in it towards me without eve rhaving said anything bad about anyone else. Gay supporters act that nasty.
I have family and friends that are out of the closet. The thought that I hate them has never even crossed my mine. That's ridiculous.

Your church didn't get all that shit just for being Mormon and supporting traditional marriage. They were justifiably criticized for actively funding opposition to to a law that simply gives equal rights, while claiming tax exempt status.
Political activism by a 501C3 organization is illegal.

Well Romney does pay his taxes and paid over $4 million in a year. And he donated 5+ million to the Mormon church. Capital gains taxes are 15% due to the nature of the investment, it's not guaranteed. He just has great advisors who make wise investments. The wealthy pay 42% income tax, his wasn't income it was capital gains.
Obama had added 5 trillion to the deficit.
The bottom 47% of the country pay 0% of federal tax. Where's their fair share?. The should be accountable for something.
Somehow we attack the wealthy as if they did something wrong. Romney is a self made millionaire and that used to be the American dream.

I dated a Mormon myself so I am very familiar how the church works. you have to give money to get in and the more money you give the more power/favors you get back. Mormons are extremely powerful in the business world and if you have connections you will get very far. really the money that he gave the church was bribe money .. When I say fair share, I don't mean that Romney broke any laws (that we can prove, yet), I mean that tax policy needs to change to favor the majority of Americans and not the rich. Raising taxes on guys like Romney is good for America. Why should a janitor pay a higher rate than a multi millionaire? The SLIGHT rise in tax rates proposed by Obama will help with the deficit (which you seem to care about), fund the country, and be in line with low tax rates in the past that were prosperous.

The top federal rate is 35% Obama suggests 39%, the same as it was under Clinton and lower than it was for most of the 20th century.
Romneys released records showing he paid less than 14% in 2010, 2011. The rich don't pay higher rates than janitors. The Capital Gains laws need to change. Why should you pay more tax to work your ass off all year long, than a guy who simply tells his broker to buy and sell stock?
Capital gains rates were intended to encourage new business investment. The rich don't create anything by trading in stocks and commodities, and it makes no sense that we shield them from paying fair tax on that type of income. That's what I'm talking about when I say change the tax law to favor America, not the rich.

Tithing is required to recieve a "Temple Recommend" which allows you to attend the temple and participate in the rites.
Tithing is a commandment of God, and has been ever since the time of Adam. Abraham paid his tithes to the High Priest, Melchizedek and that was like 5000 years ago or whatever.
Therefore, if you do no keep the commandments of God, you cannot particiapte in the rites of the temple because you are not worthy by definition.
