in the AM is different unless you weight train in the AM. If not unless you are really chunky 3 days a week cardio for 30 min should be fine. Most fat loss is better done through diet manipulation. I rarley....never do cardio even in contest prep.shape said:ok but everyone say first thing in morning on empty stomach burns most fat---you suppose to train on empty stomach then do cardio on empty stomach all before first meal????
satchboogie said:for me, trainin is best about 5-8 hours after i wake up.
in the a.m, i'm flat and weak.
but around mid day, i get that nice bloat that i feel makes me stronger.
so if you had to choose one, id go with cardio in the a.m..
eat, rest, then pump 6-8 hours later.

Cardio when your body is depleted of its glyco stores is when it will start tapping into its fat stores most effectively.
Just as trax mentioned previously in the post -

Joe Stenson said:Quite frankly I don't know what the threadstarter is talking about. I think basically everyone does what you or I do, and even the people that don't for whatever reason don't claim their way is better.
Now as for opinions on whether it's good to do cardio on an empty stomach or not, THAT'S when you start having debates.

Joe Stenson said:Is this post in jest? I said lift first, then cardio...unless you're doing the most optimal thing of AM cardio + evening lifting. If they're in the same session, weights THEN cardio. There, 3rd time I've posted it in this thread; I hope there's no more confusion.

gjohnson5 said:Never do cardio before weight training....
That's right I said NEVER
Expend your energy lifting, then when your gas tank is empty do cardio. That way your body should go looking for calories to burn (since you burned the calories that were in your stomach already) and find a chunk of fat on your midsection and burn that...
Doing cardio on an empty fuel tank can be catabolic but it should burn FAT
Weight training on an empty tank is almost useless
satchboogie said:yeah for for it dude.
