Filming workouts...

I'm curious to see how many of you film your sessions. I no that Irish Power has put up links as well as B Fold. I filmed our session today and we were doing heavy suspended goodmornings. It's cool because you can check your form and see where you did good an where you messed up. What needs work, everything. I liked the idea and think I will do it for other workouts as well.

I've gotten to see a small sample of Hannibal's old workout tapes, and we just recently filmed speed bench. I like it because it does give me the chance to review my form. I can watch people use the correct form over and over again, but I think it helps to see what I'm doing wrong.

Like Project said...the only thing we tape is Speed work to address form issues. ME work we dont tape...as long as you get the weight up...WHO CARES!

Its a good tool though...sometimes you have to see it for yourself before things will CLICK

I dunno, I think it'd be kinda fun to see some ME work on tape.

Or at least good for a laugh...

"And we have that tard moment on tape!"

I dont know between that Deadlift the other day that you hitched the hell out of....and that Zercher Squat that you "danced" with that would be funny stuff.

But NOTHING tops the 4 Board Press with the minis...when we forgot to secure the bottom of the rack...you unracking the weights and all hell breaking loose.

CLASSIC!

I actually tape shirt bencing and some squtting. I wanna see depth, and on my shirt tapes i am looking for were it stops on the way up , or how fast it goes up. If iam working with a shirt that doesnt touch i wanna see how close it was. Shit like that.

I also film myslef having sex! That way i can see if i need a shave on the undercarriage. If Iam going to fast. Or maybe my form is off. I like to check if she is taking my rythem well. You knwo video is the best thing going around.

YOu can really fix things you wouldnt normally see your self. I recomend video taping your squats sessions and bench when your not comfortable with form. This way you can see if its in your head or if you really do have bad form!

Well, and let's not leave out the squat attempt that damn near crushed you. Good thing you had the "rock, dump, and roll" technique down pat. Funny and scary, all at the same time.

i was doing seated GMs, and the first 2 reps came fairly easy. i went down for the third rep, and i ended up nearly kissing the floor. if it wouldnt have been for my workout partner i have no idea what would have happened.

i have thought of taping my workouts, but i do not have a camera yet. i think this would give me a great edge in figuring out what i'm doing wrong. it's really hard to judge how i'm screwing up. sometimes i can call it...like when i lean forward when i squat or i stall somewhere in the bench, but usually, without watching myself, it's a guessing game.

taping your training has been a lot of fun for me.

1. it makes a good training log. i can't count the number of times i have started a paper or computer log only to lose interest. my film archives dont remember lifts incorrectly either :)

2. it is great for getting other people to critique form, speed, suits, depth.

3. its fun to amaze your co-workers with stupid feats of strength and things they can never fathom.
