I am serious. People die every day. That's not national news to me, even if there's a racism angle, I don't consider it nationally newsworthy. Casey Anthony wasn't nationally newsworthy, nor was Trayvon Martin nor Jodi Arias, but then we all get wrapped up in it and ignore news that should be as nationally televised, that should be as nationally followed as these types of events, news that most of those same people will never know.

This isn't people interested in national news, this is digital rubbernecking, some of it's even straight up gossip - the frenzy over these things boggles my mind when I consider there's no such reaction to things so much more important on such grander scales.

The most nationally newsworthy thing I've seen on tv related to any of this is the cops' action against the media. That's about it.
 
The actions of the police against the protestors and against the media and citizens make this important and newsworthy. I was disturbed by the scenes coming out of there. The police are at war with the citizens. It's civil war.

and it's nice to have the president comment on something here at home.

African Americans deeply care about this. We shouldn't be telling them what to care about or that their issues aren't important enough to get some press.

What makes you think the shooting had anything to do with race?
 
It's insane what people will pretend to give a fuck about in order to not be seen as racist.

Thug robbed a store, thug punched a cop, thug got fuckin shot.

I'm not sure that it does. I didn't care about until I saw what the police were doing to the people there.

As the story began to develop further into race I got annoyed by white people that are easily manipulated by the media and take the white person's side by default and call the black kid thug just like they want. It's always like that. Like we all just haven't evolved enough.

manipulated by the media? The media fucking loves this shit, they want you to believe this is all racial. They want everyone talking and rioting and shit, it gets them ratings.

An adult criminal attacked a cop, and got blasted for it. We call that 'tuesday' in Houston, Detroit, Chicago etc etc

the police made this about race with the releasing of certain info to the media

probably to detract from the shitty job they're doing

so everyone can bicker over if the kid was a thug and not how and why and when the police became soldiers and saw us as the enemy

When the story first broke I was completely on the citizens' side but was annoyed by black people that assumed it was racially motivated. The early stories made it look like the cop was at fault but showed nothing racial. Both sides, black and white, are just as bad at not being able to put race aside and look at the situation objectively.

Yeah, because you can't bring charges against a fuckin corpse.

Robbed a store. -illegal
Attacked an officer. -illegal

There are a fuckload of criminals with no criminal record. A piece of paper or a file in a database doesn't make you more or less of a piece of shit

he stole some cigars at a convenience store, there was no report or anything on it and nothing was going to happen there

he didnt rob a convenience store

I could see actually putting up a fight if he killed the kid while he was surrendering like early reports stated but if the kid attacked a cop and got himself killed, the police are probably justified

When you steal from a place of business, you are robbing them. It's robbery. Doesn't matter that he didn't take the ATM and cash drawer.

The owner called the cops, so obviously something was going to be done. As far as attacking the officer, I'm just going off of what several witnesses are now saying. Fabricated or not, noone will ever fuckin know at this point.

so instead of firing the cop and having an investigation done, and then having him face charges in a court of law and serving whatever sentence he recieves if found guilty, people just fuck all kinds of shit up and destroy everything like a bunch of assholes?

Feeds make me some lemon chicken and some really fucking awesome little sammiches with egg , goat cheese, capers, spinach and balsamic vinaigrette. It was incredible.
