female bench pressing

i once saw a girl in my gym bench 325 lbs for a 1 rep max. this girl was about 5'4" and 165 lbs. Amazing,..has anyone else seen a similar feat of raw strength by a female?

That is an incredible lift for a 165 pound woman with a shirt and with the use of AAS. This woman should definitely compete.

That's not surprising these days. If a female was 5'4", a hard 165 and built to bench, I would expect her to be benching around 300 for a single.

Okay, I wanna know how I can bench that much!!

A trainer at my gym can squat 320++ for sets of 12... 140lbs, 5'5"-ish.

Women tend to downplay their strength.

Which is a shame...as there are lots of strong women out there.

Damn near all of them.

If I ask you how much you can lift, and you give me a number, you've already cheated yourself.

I AGREE!!

Spatts:" How much you lift?"

Hannibal:"Not enough."

Set no limits....

Well what I lift now isnt enough....and no matter what I lift...I will always be lookin for that 5 more lbs to my total. I dont see it as degrading at all...

However "Let's find out!" works pretty well also.

Spatts, I definitely agree with you on that point. My training partners continually downplay how much they can lift and what they can actually do in the gym, such as doing pull-ups. The first day I got them try them, both of them did 6 reps their first set:) I have had a little difficulty in getting them to increase their weights because they still have la little of 2 mindsets left: heavy weights will make me big and I cant lift that kind of weight. My reply is "Cant is one of those 4 letter words that is not part of my vocabulary.

:p

Degradation. I think not, Spatts. I agree with Hannibal. However both responses are perfectly fine in my mind.
