Fat Loss?

I agree, it's great that your thinking about these things at 13. If I had done that instead of waiting till my mid 30's....I can't even imagine. My advice is this. Decide what kind of body you want when you're 18, 25, 35.......or any age in the future. The key is just to set a goal for yourself. Do you want to be freaky big or look like the guy on the cover of Men's Health? Then focus on that goal. If you want to be huge, you'd better start eating. Forget So Beach and focus on consuming at least 3000 cals per day and increase that as your weight goes up. Cut your running down unless you are a competitive runner (if you are, forget about getting large and muscular). I like the idea of pushups and pullups, right now that is all the upper body exercize you need. The key right now is to increase strength, the size will come as you mature and begin to focus on weight training in a couple years. Get yourself some dumbells though and do lunges and dumbell squats. Lil Dude, if you do these things you'll be amazed at what you look like when your a senior in high school and you'll be beaten the pretty high school babies off with a stick.

I agree with Daisy_Girl.....and wow, it's great that you're so aware of nutrition and exercise at such a young age!!

Great?
In one way I suppose it may be... since there are so many kids eating poorly in America...
However, coming from a family that enforced a negative body image on me since I was little, I beg to differ. I started dieting when I was 10. At 10-15 years old, kids shouldn't be worried about "dieting."
I'm still bitter if you can't tell... :p

Hey, thanks for all the replys. And, in answer to some comments about my not worrying about dieting, I'm not worrying about it, I'm just eating a lot more healthy than I used to. It's not like i count calories or fat or anything.
