fat gained when bulking?

massbuild

New member
when normal people bulk up (when i say normal i mean those with a normal metabolism) how much fat is gained with the muscle?

Well ill be a bit more accurate. If someone had a normal metabolic rate and then ate 500 cals more a day than maintenance with 50p 40c 10f. anyone any idea?

It depends on so many things its impossible to say. It also depends on how lean you are before you start to bulk. If you lean out to close to 10% you wont gain too much in fat.

Nutrient timing, supplements, total calories, carbs, and protein amounts are also very telling in terms of what can be expected on a bulking diet. Some people go all out with tons of calories, excess carbs, fats, and protein. I would say for the most part that if you were trying to bulk up you want something close to the following, and again, it depends on alot of what hansel had to say as well:

Calories - 750 over normal
Protein - 1.75 per lbs
carbs - close to same as protein
fats - about 30% of dietary intake

Cardio a couple times a week wont hurt either and help keep some fat off as well

back to your original question though - and thats if your diet is in order and its clean, and you throw in some cardio, and good supplementation, you shouldnt gain a whole lot of fat, some fat is good while bulking but you can keep it to a minimum.
