Fat and carb mixing ?

Toozee

On a 40/30/30 diet, do you keep this ratio for all meals?

Just curious since I try not to mix carbs and fat.
Or would mixing the 2 be ok, and just cut carbs in the last meal or 2. (This is for a bulking diet I'm making for the near future).

Thanks

i would avoid mixing fats and carbs... it makes your meal planning harder but i dont like having high fat levels in my system ready to ride the insulin express...

I'm brand new to this but that seems to be the big no/no these days. Never mix carbs and fats in the same meal or within two hours of each other if your trying to lose body fat. My question is about carb restriction and how much to restrict? Do you know much about this? I want to eat about a 45/35/20 split p/f/c. I've decided that my carloric need is about 2700-2800 per day leaving a total of 560 calories to come from carbs so 140 grams. Anyway I heard that it's good to taper your meals eating your p/c meals at first and then p/f meals at night. This becomes a problem for me because I lift after 5 and it goes against eating carbs with a protein shake after a big workout. Do you have any ideas?

I would say if bulking avoid fat + carbs....when your hypocaloric tahts when the fat gain from the two is a bigger risk. Fat +carbs when dieting really insn't as big of a deal because you're alot less likely to store fat when your hypercaloric...I still do it though, just because when I'm cutting carbs usually are only postworkout and in the morning...times when you don't want fat anyway.

Cobra and Toozee, I would think that you should have the carbs after your workouts. They seem to help more than hurt you even if it`s later on in the day.

If I finish wo at 7:00 PM I have Dextrose whey shake then 1 hour later have a carb protein meal, then my last meal 2 1/2 - 3 hours later fat and pro.

Since Ive been adding glucerol R ala it`s been great btw.

Yeah..The post workout carb doesn't bother me. but if I have only one meal after post wo and one meal before my wo maybe to get in the 88+ g fats needed in my 40/30/30 it makes it difficult.

Looks like I'll be running a lower fat ratio.....LOL.
I don't miss the fat anyway, and I have fishoil tabs or olive oil.
I figured that's what I might do. Thanks all.

im doing a 40/30/30 (protein ncarbs fat)
i eat 6 times a day and make sure not to mix the two up (carbs and fats that is)

i'll have 3 P+C meals and 3 P+F meals

it's working a charm for me right now :D
i have finally found a diet that works.

admitedly i get kinda drained out energy wise not having carbs butbefore and after workouts i have a P+C and i feel ok
