Facing numbers in?

i face them out so people can see how much im lifting....
cause if the numbers were facing inward, no one would be able to tell.

Do you leave enough space between the plates so people can read between the plates so they can cleary see that you have 45, 45, 35, 10, 5 and a 2.5 on there?

No I was serious but didn't state it the right way. I guess I wanted to know why not if it helped. But you got me on the hard iron. I thought you were serious and I was going to call you out.

no i load them close together...
i just put little post-it notes sticking off of each weight and write the amount of weight on them.

Yep, it seems that way to me too - facing out or they mix 'n match. Bugs me when someone works in with me and I face my side in and they have theirs out. Gotta go over and flip it over and they look at ME like I'm strange (could definitely be :p )

Also notice the loudest guys in the gym are the ones doing flys or curls? I've heard these characters discussing all the in's and out and angles and turning the pinkie in or out and so on. I didn't realize they were such technical lifts :rolleyes:

I actually mix and match...and I certainly know my way around the gym. I always try to maximize the amount of area where the plates touch each other. So for 185 I would put the 45 facing in and the 25 facing out. My thinking is that more contact area = more stability. Probably doesn't make a difference though.
 
Good grief. None of it makes a difference, other than a mental one for some of you freaks! LoL And I take umbrage at the comment that only "total noobs" face the numbers outward. The plates are on the plate holder w/ the numbers facing out . . . I take them from the holder, and put them on the bar. Thus, the numbers remain facing out. Otherwise, I'd have to flip the plates around, which uses valuable energy and muscle that I'll need for my 30th set of monkey-butt pinkey flared flies.

I do like the sticky-note idea though. Would it work the same for those of us working out at home?
