Expecting Mother Workout Routines

Does anyone know of any good sites for work out routines for expecting mothers?Any help on this would be greately appreciated.
 
Thank you so much.Yes she does workout and in great shape.I am actually her personal trainer, but i want to make sure we are very safe with her.She just found out she is preagnant so i am having to alter her routine a bit so i needed this info.I am going to school for trainng female client who are preaganant in a few months i just did not think one of my clients would get preagnant so soon.
 
Try www.babyfit.com . It is a good nutritional and fitness site for PG women.

PG women who worked out before can actually do most of the same things they did pre-PG. There are some modifications, of course. For example, cardio cannot be high intensity. The heat it produces is bad for the development of the child. Her heart rate should stay around 140bpm, so she shoudl wear a heart rate monitor. She should be able to talk at all times. Extreme breathlessness is NOT a good idea.

Abdominal work (laying down flat) should not be performed after 1st Trimester (around 12 weeks).

She should be hydrated during the workout - she should have water with her constantly.

She can STILL lift weights no problem. Her routine should probably be lower weight, but can still be heavy. Even squats are fine. The weight *should* be lowered and she should only do what she is comfortable with.

OF COURSE, she will talk to her doctor FIRST. Her doctor's advice should trump yours. Her doctor needs to be VERY aware of everything she is doing. If s/he says NO , then she shouldn't do it. JMHO.
